On the occasion, 82 traditional healers were honored for their achievements in promoting, preserving and developing the traditional medicine as well as increasing the herbal usage to care for the public health.

The Vietnam Association of Traditional Medicine honors the national outstanding herbalists.

Bac Giang province has two herbalists honored at the ceremony, namely Tran Ngoc Bich (born in 1962) Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Association of Traditional Medicine and Nguyen The Khiem (born in 1959), Chairman of the Association of Traditional Medicine in Tan Yen district.

They are two herbalists with several precious traditional medicines which have proved effectiveness in curing bone and joint diseases as well as been popularly promoted in Vietnam Traditional Medicine Magazine.

The event is held by the VATM every three years.

Vietnam to host traditional medicine conference of sub-Mekong countries

The ninth conference on traditional medicine of countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region will take place in Hanoi on September 5 and 6, according to the Ministry of Health.

When human needs become too big, the source of natural medicine is nearly exhausted, there is a person who embarks on the preservation, multiplication and raising the stature of herbal medicine. It is Ha Thi Chanh (born in 1972) from San Diu ethnic group in Nhan Ly village, Truong Son commune (Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province).
