The people of Viet Yen township have recently been happier because in the joy of welcoming the new year 2025, they have witnessed the completion of many traffic works and urban highlights of the township such as the Township Stadium (phase 1 with 7,000 seats), Township Convention Center (600 seats), Nguyen The Nho Park, TNH Hospital, the road connecting Provincial Road 298 to Thuong Lan Industrial Park, the route connecting National Highway 17 – Vietnam Korean Industrial Park - Dinh Tram Industrial Park with National Highway 37 and the road from Co Deo (Nghia Trung commune) to the Northeast beltway of Bac Giang city among others.

The new Viet Yen township stadium has just been completed and put into operation.

Many urban areas, commercial and service areas such as My Dien commercial and service areas, Ninh Khanh Urban Area (in Nenh Ward), commercial and service areas in Bich Dong Ward, TNR Stars Bich Dong Urban Area... have been formed, attracting many traders and residents to live and do business. The urban space is expanded to be greener, more spacious and beautiful.

Along with newly completed projects, in 2024, Viet Yen township also focused on the task of developing planning projects.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister, ministries, central branches, the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee approved for the general urban planning project of Viet Yen township to 2045, scale 1/10,000; the urban development program of Viet Yen township to 2045; adjustment of the urban architecture management regulations of Viet Yen township; 4 zoning planning projects of the township, scale 1/2,000; detailed planning for the construction of urban areas and commercial services of Bich Dong town, scale 1/500...

Up to now, the coverage rate of zoning planning has reached 100%; the coverage rate of detailed planning of the whole township has reached 48%, of which 9 wards have reached 85%; the urbanization rate has reached 64%, 2.7 times higher than the average of the whole province.

The urban planning projects and development programs strictly followed the general orientation of the province with a new position and trend in the context of international integration and globalization.

Accordingly, Viet Yen will build a dynamic urban area associated with a synchronous socio-economic infrastructure system, a complete service network, ensuring "civilization - modernity - identity".

Viet Yen strives to achieve the criteria of a third tier urban area (3 years ahead of schedule), to be a city under Bac Giang province with an urbanization rate of about 60-75% by 2027 and reaching about 75-85% by 2045.
