Vietnam welcomes all efforts to re-start Middle East peace process

Vietnam closely follows the situation in the Middle East and welcomes all efforts to re-start the Middle East peace process, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said on January 31.
She made the statement in response to reporters’ questions about Vietnam’s reaction to the US’s Middle East peace plan.

“We hold that a fair and sustainable solution to this issue can only be reached through dialogue and negotiations between related parties on the basis of respect for international law and related resolutions of the United Nations,” Hang said.
The Vietnam Youth for Peace and Development project, funded by the US embassy in Vietnam, was officially launched during a ceremony in Hanoi on December 16, with 52 outstanding youths taking part.
The final night of a contest aiming to find a Friendship Ambassador for Peace 2019 in Hanoi took place on December 12.
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has affirmed that Vietnam supports and wants to contribute to the Francophone community’s efforts to promote peace, stability and development in the world and the Francophone community in particular.
The Ministry of National Defence held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 26 to bid farewell to 30 officers and staff of the second level-2 field hospital to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
Women’s important role in interfaith dialogues and in maintaining regional peace and security was highlighted by ASEAN Secretary General Dato Lim Jock Hoi at the ASEAN Women Interfaith Dialogue in Jakarta, Indonesia.
