Since 2006, the province has received more than 100,000 blood units. The result of past year and the target assigned by the Center are always exceeded. Thus, Bac Giang becomes one of the top leading province in the Northern localities.

Particularly, the province received some 20,900 blood units, exceeding 123 percent comparing to the plan and accounting for 1.2 percent of the provincial population donating the blood in 2019.

2020 is the fifth consecutive year the provincial VBD Steering Board has selected the “Red Sunday” to open the “Red Spring Festival”.

At the end of the lauching ceremony, the Organization Board received 612 blood units qualified with the standard of the Ministry of Health, which will be added to the blood bank of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion for the emergency and treatment.

Together with the blood donation activities, the delegates paraded on several streets in Bac Giang city for communicating and calling the people to participate in the campaign.

Numerous officers and people in Bac Giang city register to donate the blood at the event.

The occasion of the Lunar New Year has great demand of blood for treatment and emergency, thus the VBDC on Tet holiday and Red Spring Festival are annual activities to add the spare blood source, limit the blood shortage and ensure the safety in the first aid and disease treatment.

This year, the VBDC will last from now on till March 15 with the target of receiving 3,000 blood units, making up 20 percent of the 2020 yearly plan while remaining and promoting the operational effectiveness of the blood donation clubs which are ready to donate the blood all the day and night on this occasion.

Vietnam Buddhist Academy to host blood donation festival

The Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) will work together to organise a blood donation and organ donation registration festival at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Soc Son district of Hanoi on August 4.

Red Journey drive receives over 85,000 units of blood
