Winners of Vietnam Smart City Awards honoured

The Vietnam IT Software and Services Association (VINASA) held a ceremony on November 24, to announce and award 54 Smart City Awards 2020 to businesses, organisations and units.

The award ceremony was attended by Party Central Committee (PCC) member and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.

Five best awards were presented to FPT Joint Stock Company, Military-run telecommunications company (Viettel Group), Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Vinhomes Joint Stock Company. And Da Nang City, especially, was the only city to receive the prestigious award for cities.

Smart cities are the inevitable development trend of all cities in the world in order to optimise resources, develop sustainably, protect the environment, security, safety and convenience for people and social economic development.

The award, organised for the first time by VINASA, aims to recognise, honour and encourage businesses, organisations and units that have made contributions to making cities smarter, more liveable, branded, competitive and develop sustainably, at the same time contribute to accelerating the digital transformation process.

The award also aims to encourage organisations and developers that contributed to the development of smart cities in Vietnam.

The award would be given to four groups including six kinds of urban areas, smart real estate projects and smart buildings, smart industrial park (IP) projects and technology solutions for smart cities, property projects and IPs.

Each group would have specific evaluation criteria. Group 1 encourages the building of a legal corridor, planning, architecture, technical infrastructure, human resources and public services. Group 2 aims to promote the building of the living environment, with a multi-utility and civilised community for residents. Group 3 encourages the creation of a complete business investment attractive environment for Vietnamese and FDI enterprises. And group 4 promotes highly effective technology innovations in all city, urban, real estate and industrial real estate projects.

After more than a month and a half of implementation, the Awards received 131 nominations from 73 participating companies and businesses. The organising board selected 54 nominations from 26 units and businesses to receive the Vietnam Smart City Awards 2020.

Da Nang City is the only city to receive the prestigious award for cities.

According to the plan, Digital Solutions awarded Vietnam Smart City Awards 2020 will be sent letters by the Organizing Committee to connect to provinces, cities, urban areas, investors of real estate projects, industrial real estate, businesses and potential partners.

The Smart City Awards 2020 will be displayed online on the website www.smartcitysummit.vn from now until the end of December. Agencies, units and organisations can directly connect with award providers.
