Annually, over 70 festivals are organized in the district, mainly in the spring. Among them are Vinh Nghiem pagoda festival (Tri Yen commune), Kem pagoda festival (Nham Son commune), Ba Tong communal house festival (Neo town), and festival of Thuong village’s communal house (Tan Dan town)…
The preparation and organization are made attentively, safely and economically in line with regulations and the real situation in the locality. Rituals take place solemnly and rapidly without offensive offerings, ensuring historical and cultural meanings. They are suitable to national customs and people’s need of belief. Festive activities comprise art, cultural and sports performances, and traditional games, meeting entertainment demand of the people.

Additionally, money has been poured into upgrading infrastructure serving the organization of festivals, while the scale of festivals has been extended. Festivals contribute to promoting and educating the pride in the traditional cultural values of the Yen Dung ancient land, helping develop the local economy and enrich the residents’ cultural and spiritual life.
In order to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, habits and customs of the nation, the local authorities always attach great importance to raising public awareness of and responsibility for preserving festivals. The work is implemented in various forms and with plentiful contents through guidelines, directions, and broadcast systems, the district’s portal, conferences, meetings at local levels and posters. Besides, the preservation and promotion of the nation’s traditional cultural values and customs in festivals have been concretized in regulations of hamlets and residential areas and included in programmes to popularise the “All people unite to build a cultural life” movement.

The Division of Culture and Information and the Management Board of Historical and Cultural Relic Sites of the district have directed their chapters in communes and towns to outline over 70 presentations to introduce local relic sites in association with traditional festivals.
In the coming time, the district People’s Committee and the steering committee of the “All people unite to build a cultural life” movement will continue to increase interdisciplinary inspection of festivals in the locality, and make more efforts to preserve and promote the country’s traditional cultural values.
