Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh takes Asian Indoor Championship title
The tournament took place on February 10-12, with about 500 athletes from 31 countries and territories competing across 26 disciplines of running, throwing, jumping, and all-around events.

Four members of Vietnam team joined the event, including Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Thi Huyen, Luong Duc Phuoc and Nguyen Trung Cuong. It was the sole international championship for the players before vying for medal at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games to be held on May 5 – 17, 2023 in Cambodia.
Competing against strong contenders from China, Japan, and Kuwait, Oanh competed in two disciplines of women’s 3,000 meter and 1,500 meter race.
On February 10, Oanh became the fifth to reach the finish line of 3,000 meter event at the time of 9:18.41 (her forte is 3,000 meter steeplechase).

In the evening of February 11, she crossed the finish line in 4 minutes and 15.55 seconds at the second discipline to win the title. Japanese athlete came second while the Kazakhstan players placed third.
