All qualified organic products of his family and 18 other households in the same village have been ordered by Kim Hang Luc Ngan Organic Agriculture Technology Joint Stock Company in Phuong Son commune with price of 30,000 VND per kg (1.29 USD). Also, the business supplied organic fertilizer for the participating growers with delayed payment.
According to the Plant Production and Protection (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development-DARD), this year the temperature and moisture were ideal for flowering and fruit bearing stages that resulted in high rate. Similarly, the lychee productivity of Tan Yen district is estimated at 17,000 tonnes, up 500 tonnes year on year.
To facilitate lychee export this year, the DARD defined it was key task to grant new growing area codes (GAC) for fruit in general and lychee in particular. The sector focused on completing proposal to grant 15 new export GAC for China, 9 for Australia, 2 for the US and 3 for Thailand.
Besides, the DARD supported 5 businesses and cooperatives to make export registration of processing products to Chinese market in which Luc Ngan Farm Produce Import and Export Company was granted export code by China while four others are in the waiting list of China Customs.
Regarding the US market, on March 17, the DARD worked with Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Vietnam Trade Office in the US and Plant Protection Department to evaluate and review irradiation conditions at Hanoi Irradiation Center.
In 2022, the lychee enjoyed smooth consumption with over 40 percent of quantity exported to several markets including new countries in the EU and Middle East. This year, the People’s Committee in the districts early prepared plan and programme for consumption.

Hanoi based Phuc Lam Commercial and Service Development Company Limited cooperates with farmers in Giap Son commune to tag lychee trees under linkage for production and consumption. |
To date, the district People’s Committee established 2 delegations and cooperated with the Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) to survey and seek market in Guangxi and Yunnan (China); border gates in Lao Cai, Lang Son and Southern whole sale markets. Recently, the district has worked with Vietnam Railways about gathering and transporting the fruits to China via Kep station.
The DoIT has launched early promotion activities via meeting with departments, agencies, institutes of the Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as the businesses and distributors.
Particularly, the sector consulted the provincial People’s Committee to work with Trade Counselor at some countries such as the US, Japan, and China to export lychee.
