Implementing the memorandum of understanding of the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee (PPC) with the Standing Committee of a number of localities such as Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, the Department of Transport (DoT) of Bac Giang has proactively discussed and signed cooperative agreements on transportation development in 2023-2025 period and the following years with the counterpart in neighbouring provinces.

Hoa Son bridge is connected. As schedule, it will be technically opened to traffic in late 2023.

Recently, the DoT of Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces signed a cooperation agreement. Accordingly, localities are determined to speed up the progress of ongoing projects and plan to build many new connection ones.

Regarding the Dong Viet bridge project and its paths, the two sides strive to open the entire route to traffic before June 30, 2024.

Hoa Son Bridge (connecting Hiep Hoa district of Bac Giang province and Pho Yen city of Thai Nguyen province) has recently had its close segment placed. The bridge has a total length of 439 m, the bridge deck is 11 m wide. The road leading to the bridge is made in line with third grade plain road standards with a total length of more than 10 km, 11 m wide road surface, 12 m wide bed. As schedule, Hoa Son bridge will be technically opened to traffic on December 31 this year.

From Hoa Son bridge, Thai Nguyen province has constructed road to link Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc provinces which is expected to be completed in 2024.

In addition to the above projects, Bac Giang has executed a series of projects such as Ha Bac 1 and Ha Bac 2 Bridges; preparing to start construction of the road connecting Tay Yen Tu town (Son Dong) to Quang Ninh province this year.

Because many new projects have been invested, Bac Giang's transportation system is quite synchronous, facilitating regional and international economic and trade exchanges; promoting the development of industry, tourism and services.

The paths to Dong Viet bridge in Hai Duong province side will be completed two months ahead of the schedule.

Director of Thai Nguyen provincial DoT Pham Quang Anh said: "We appreciate the implementation method of Bac Giang provincial DoT for proactively advising and coordinating with neighboring counterparts to join hands in planning and implementing new transportation connection projects. Therefore, the two localities have additional projects that bring practical benefits".

One of the areas that Bac Giang focuses on connecting traffic is the provinces of Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh. On the contrary, localities are also actively and closely carrying out related tasks to join Bac Giang in speeding up the progress of projects.

Do Thi Lan, Deputy Director in charge of the Bac Giang provincial DoT informed that Bac Giang targets to avoid "concave" traffic condition in any localities. The province also prioritizes investment in key connection axes. Therefore, following the direction, based on the signing minutes, the Department urges and closely follows each task to report progress, promptly propose and advise the province to remove problems arising during the implementation process.
