This July, 8/8 national contributors’ houses in Bac Giang city have been funded to be built, repaired and brought into use. Each house was funded 50 million VND (1,965 USD) for building and 20 million VND (786 USD) for repairing, which was deducted from the city “Gratitude Fund” in line with donation by the organizations, businesses and kind hearted people.

Bac Giang city is the first locality in the province fulfilled the target on supporting to build and repair houses for national contributors in 2024.

As defining caring for national contributors a significant political task, the party committee, all-level government, unions and agencies of Bac Giang city have paid special attention to this work with numerous meaningful activities.

According to the statistics, the city is home to 2,655 people benefiting monthly allowances, 1,655 martyrs’ families and more than 6,000 resistance activists.

“The city always pays due attention and priority to timely resolve the policies for national contributors. The municipal people’s committee directed related divisions and people’s committee of the wards and towns to better receiving valid dossiers for policy benefiting. In the first 6 months 2024, the related units of the city received and submitted 300 dossiers to the competent authority to provide assistance policies for national contributors and national contributors’ relatives in a timely manner following right procedures”, said Nguyen Huu Dinh, Vice Chairman of the municipal people’s committee of Bac Giang city.

Besides, the municipal people’s committee directed related agencies to review and offer concentrated nursing and home nursing for over 800 beneficiaries and provide orthopedic equipment and tools for 61 people.

In order to encourage the national contributors, the city gave more than 3,100 gifts of the State President and nearly 3,200 gifts of the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee totaled some 3.2 billion VND (125,790 USD) while gifting over 120 packages and cash for typical national contributors and policy beneficiary families worth over 130 million VND (5,110 USD) from the city budget.

The model “returning results of the administrative procedures in the national contributor-related sector to the houses of national contributors for free in Hoang Van Thu ward” has been carried out since March 2024. This is a new model, which has been implemented for the first time in Bac Giang city.

This time, the youth union of Bac Giang city is launching a new project of digitalizing information in martyrs’ cemeteries. Accordingly, the youth union members in the wards and communes will collect information from the martyrs’ graves to add into the system.

When the martyrs’ relatives or visitors come to the cemeteries, they can scan the QR code to search for information of the martyrs and location of each grave.

According to Luong Van Huy, Secretary of the municipal youth union, 10 communes and wards of the city with cemeteries will complete digitalization by July 27 (the War Invalids and Martyrs Day).

In addition, people’s committee of the communes and wards will regularly check, care, repair, upgrade and refurbish the monuments of heroic martyrs to keep them clean and solemn to meet visitors’ demand while taking care of them as places for educating revolutionary tradition to people especially young generation.

A few days ago, the people’s committee of Tran Nguyen Han ward collaborated with Nguyen Duc Toan’ hair salon to provide free hair cut for nearly 100 people who are pre-revolutionary officers, war invalids, wounded soldiers and war prisoners. This is a small deed but it has great meaning showing the attention of the local government to national contributors.
