Bac Giang consumes more than 55,000 tonnes of oranges and grapefruits
BAC GIANG – As of January 22 (lunar December 23), the whole Bac Giang province harvested more than 34,000 tonnes of grapefruit and 21,000 tonnes of oranges of all kinds, reaching 83% of total output, reported the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to Nguyen Van Tru, Director of Binh Son Agricultural Service Cooperative, the unit has more than 20 hectares of grapefruit, but due to the impact of storm No. 3, the fruit-bearing area only accounted for about 10 hectares.

Up to this point, the Cooperative has basically harvested all the grapefruits in the garden with an output of 20 tonnes of fruits.
Thanks to proper care, the fruit quality is even with beautiful appearance, stable selling price from 20-35,000VND per kg. Most of traders come to the garden to buy the products.
Along with oranges and grapefruits, about 5,500 tonnes of jujubes were also harvested, reaching more than 40% of the output, with selling prices ranging from 20-40,000 VND per kg, equivalent to the same period last year. Most of the jujubes were harvested in growing areas such as Dai Son (Son Dong); Phi Dien, Tan Quang (Luc Ngan)...
Compared to last year, this year, farmers in orange growing areas were excited when this fruit was sold at a good price, from 20-65,000VND per kg.
