Bac Giang is located at an ideal land within Hanoi capital area and economic corridor of Nan Ninh (China) – Lang Son – Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh. It is only 50 km away from the capital and Noi Bai International Airport, 110km from Friendship Border Gate (Lang Son), 140 km from Hai Phong port.

The province covers nearly 3,900 square km, over 75 percent of which are farming land to ensure huge source to develop the industry, urban and services in the future.

The local population reaches over 1.8 million people (rank 12th position nationwide) and is at the gold population structure with over 1.1 million people within the working age.

Additionally, Bac Giang is naturally facilitated with smooth weather and geological conditions for both industrial and agriculture development.

Well promoting the potentials and advantages for recent years, the province has achieved quick and comprehensive development in all fields of economy, culture, society, national defence, security and diplomacy.

The province has consecutively maintained high Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at 14.6 percent on average in the period 2016 – 2019 and 16.2 percent in 2019, helping Bac Giang rank third nationwide with more and more expanding economy.

Bac Giang province targets to maintain the GRDP in the top leading provincies and cities; accelerate to switch the development model from the width to the deepth; develop comprehensively with focal point of human development; boost up the investment attraction, expand the GRDP scale to be in top 15 provinces and cities across the nation by 2025.

To realize the target, the province will synchronously implement various solutions to ensure the comprehensive growth, in which 3 groups of breakthrough solutions are defined to be immediately executed, including:

(1) Build qualified sources of officers, public servant, staff and well develop the role of the leader. Timely issue the mechanizm and policy to accelerate the socio-economic growth, ensure the environment and respond to climate change.

(2) Comprehensively develop the man power, science and technology, creative innovation. Inspire the wish of devotion and progress in each officer, public servant and residents. Well promote the cultural and traditional values of Bac Giang people that is solidarity, humanity, high consensus to build diverse and civilized environment and cultural life.

(3) Synchronously develop the infrastructure with the focal point of traffic infrastructure, industrial cluster and park, urban area toward synchronous, modern and smart features.

PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai urges to pay high attention to socio-economic development ensuring growth targets

(BGO)- Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) of Bac Giang province Duong Van Thai chaired a monthly brief meeting with chairpersons of people’s committee of the districts and city and leaders of the departments and related agencies on 27 February about socio-economic development, administrative reform, dealing with complaints and denunciations, traffic order and safety and land clearance compensation for the key projects.

Bac Giang invests in tourism development infrastructure

(BGO) – Investment in infrastructure construction is one of the key factors to boost the tourism growth. Thus, many localities in Bac Giang province have mobilized all sources to upgrade and improve the grass root infrastructure to help change and beautify the landscapes as well as link the utilities among the tourism destinations.

Making products from small-leaf polyscias fruticosa: New direction in development of medicinal plants

(BGO) - With the goal of creating some products from small-leaf polyscias fruticosa, in 2018, the Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University was approved by the province to implement the project "Application of science and technology in growing small-leaf polyscias fruticosa”. After more than two years of implementation, the project has given certain results, opening up a new direction for development of medicinal plants in the locality.

Diplomatic tasks promote tourism development in Bac Giang province

(BGO) – Implementing the  Resolution of the Bac Giang provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Plan No.102/KH-UBND dated May 30, 2016 issued by the provincial People’s Committee about developing the tourism in Bac Giang province in the period 2016 – 2020, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DoFA) has actively communicated, introduced and promoted the image of culture, history and beauty of Bac Giang’s land and human to international friends.
