Quang Ninh province continued to lead the rankings for the fifth consecutive year. Bac Giang province earned 64.74 points, ranking 31 out of 63 provinces and cities. Though the province scored 0.76 more than 2020, it dropped four positions among the localities with good PCI ranking.

The PCI reports over the last 17 years have attested to the persistence and efforts of the Government, sectors and localities, and the business community in objectively and transparently recognising the improvement of the provincial-level business environment.

The PCI 2021 report was created from opinions of 11,312 businesses, including over 10,000 private ones at 63 provinces, cities and 1,185 foreign direct investment enterprises at 22 localities.

The overall PCI comprises ten sub-indices: entry costs for business start-up; access to land and security of business premises; business environment and equitable business information; informal charges; bureaucratic procedures and inspections; private activity from policy biases toward state, foreign, or connected firms; provincial leadership in solving problems for enterprises; business support services; labor training policies and legal procedures for dispute resolution..

Bac Giang provincial leader affirms PCI improvement as self conquering race

(BGO) – The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) cooperated with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to announce the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 2020 in Hanoi on April 15. Bac Giang province earned 63.98 points, ranking 27 out of 63 provinces and cities, up 13 places over the previous year. It is also the best ever result the province has gained since 2016.
