Accordingly, VFAL committed to buy 150 tonnes of fresh lychees with price of 35,000 VND (1.5 USD) per kg to export via air freight to European market while cooperatives and collectives promised to produce quality lychees in line with GlobalGAP standard which meet export criteria to European market and supply to VFAL in 2022.

Speaking at the event, leader of Luc Ngan district People’s Committee expected VFAL to have smooth and long term cooperation with the locality, not only for lychee consumption but also export of other typical farm produce of orange, pomelo, jujube…Local authority will create favourable conditions for companies to cooperate, purchase and consume lychees.

VFAL’s CEO and General Director Nguyen Thu Huong expressed her hope to accompany the cooperatives during production and improve lychee quality to meet export criteria to European countries while suggesting local authority to grant lychee growing area code to export to this market.

Previously on April 20, VFAL inked contract to buy early ripening lychee of eight households in Quat Du village No.2 in Phuc Hoa commune (Tan Yen district) with total area of 5ha to export to European market.

Thus, two enterprises have signed contract to buy lychee in Bac Giang, including VFAL and NEW AG Technologies Vietnam Joint Stock Company (August 2021).

High lychee fruit bearing rate thanks to favorable weather condition

(BGO) - The favorable weather condition this year helps lychee have high flowering and fruit bearing rate in Bac Giang province particularly over 95 percent for early ripening lychee and 75 percent for main lychee season (3-5 percent higher than the figure last year), reported the provincial Plant Production and Protection Division.
