Bac Giang provincial leader orders to focus on managing, monitoring people’s health at place of residence
According to the provincial Steering Committee, the locality currently faces high risk of pandemic spread because many Covid-19 infected people had travelled to different places and contacted with many others before being confirmed infection while medics could not identify source of infection of some cases.
PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong chaired the conference. |
By tracking the source of infection, Bac Giang has confirmed 29 people with epeidemiological factors connected to patient 243 in Me Linh district (Hanoi). In which, 20 of them were put in concentrated isolation, 9 self-quarantined at home and 8 were tested negative results.
1,374 people have entered the province since 7 March. 7,585 people have returned from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
To date, the provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC) has heightened the testing capacity from 200 to 300 specimens per day, supplemented biologicals to meet current testing demand and tackle the shortage and bought 1,200 qick test kits to supply the hospitals and medical centers in emergencies.
Nguyen Van Dong, Director of the provincial General Hospital reports the conference. |
According to some opinions at the conference, the management of onsite-quarantined people has not been strict and good enough. Many people did not make truthful health declaration when coming to the General Hospital for health check causing high risk of infection to medical workers.
Some participants recommended suspending a number of isolation areas at district level thanks to the decreasing number of quarantined people. Quarantined people from the districts and city should be brought to the provincial isolation areas. The districts’ isolation areas shall resume operation when necessary.
Concluding the conference, PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong said, although the pandemic situation in the province has been in control, there is high possibility of pandemic spread from untested people returning from Bach Mai Hospital. The province has to impose 28-day quarantine for people coming from this place because many of them have not been tested yet.
PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong urged the local governments and sectors from provincial to grassroots levels and all citizens to strictly observe the social distancing rule and heighten preventive measures based on the PPC’s direction at the Correspondence No 1456 dated 8 April 2020 on strengthening management of sources of Covid-19 infection in the province.
CDC was urged to collaborate with medical centers of the districts and city to speed up testing progress and exclusive tests within each locality to minimize risk of infection. The people’s committee of the districts and city needs to foster propaganda, mobilization and supervision to ensure strict implementation of the preventive measures while sanctioning violations.
Bui Chien Thang, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Public Security voices at the conference. |
Due to losing track of transmission in some infected cases, it is essential to pay high attention to managing and supervising people’s health at the place of residence while screening people with suspected symptoms for rapid diagnostic tests. It is required to quickly respond to bad circumstances related to infected and suspected people to localize, quarantine and control the pandemic.
The PPC Vice Chairman agreed with the recommendation to suspending the districts’ isolation areas, bringing quarantined people into the provincial concentrated isolation areas and readily resuming the districts’ isolation areas when necessary. Based on the pandemic developments, the province will consider establishing roadblocks to check people’s health when entering and leaving the province.
