(BGO) – According to the
primary reviewing result of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social
Affairs, Bac Giang province has more than 23,200 poor households in 2019,
accounting for 5.05 percent. Comparing to 2018, the figure reduced more than 9,800 poor households (down 2.24
percent).
The province is home to more than 28,100 near poor households, making up 6.12 percent (down 0.94 percent).

The statistic showed that the rate of poor households reduced in 10 districts and city, mostly in the districts of Son Dong 28.29 percent (down 7.32 percent); Luc Nam 6.32 percent (down 3.79 percent); Yen The 7.22 percent (down 3.76 percent); Luc Ngan 6.86 percent (down 3.69 percent).
The annual reviewing and statistic results for the poor and near poor households reflects the efficiency of implementing the poverty reduction policy in the province that is a basis for the competent agency to consult the local authority to build up the suitable social welfare policies.
Peak month “For the poor” launched

- In order to implement the action month “For the Poor” 2019 launched from 17
October to 18 November, the Fatherland Front and the Board for mobilising “Fund for the poor” of Bac Giang city in northern
province of Bac Giang mobilized each public official and laborer in the
armed forces, enterprises and public-service delivery agencies to donate at
least one-day’s wage/income.

for the poor launched every year by the provincial Fatherland Front Committee,
which serves as the province’s board for mobilising capital for the “For the
Poor” Fund, is an important activity to implement sustainable poverty reduction
and social security programmes in Bac Giang province.
