Bac Giang receives nearly 8,000 blood units

(BGO) – The Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood
Donation (VBD) in Bac Giang province has coordinated with the Steering Board for
VBD in Lang Giang district and Vietnam German Hospital to organize VBD Festival
in Tien Luc commune, Lang Giang district in response of the Day for Voluntary
Blood Donation April 7.
The event drew more than 800 officers, members of the Party Committee, youth and people in the area. After screening and inspecting, the organization board received 640 safe blood units that met standard of the Health Ministry then directly delivered to Vietnam German Hospital to serve the emergency and patient treatment.

Since early this year, the province has organized 13 VBD festivals and received nearly 8,000 blood units, accounting for 45 percent of the annual target.
Some localities with good results included Luc Nam (1,421 units), Viet Yen (1,043 units) and Tan Yen (976 units).

Red Spring Festival in Bac Giang: Guaranteeing blood reserve to save people
(BGO)- In order to spread the meaning of Red Spring Festival and attract involvement of people at all strata, the provincial Steering Board for voluntary blood donation (VBD), Tan Yen district, the provincial Youth Union and Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper in Bac Giang jointly held an event on 24 January to launch the festival and “Red Sunday” 2021 in Tan Yen district.

The National Institute of Haematology - Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) held a ceremony in Hanoi on December 29 to present the “Giot hong” (Red Drops) Awards and meet leaders and managers of the units that organised blood donation events in 2020.

New Year and “Red Spring Festival 2021” will be launched from January 1 to
March 15, 2021 under the theme of “Donating blood on early Spring – Multiplying
happiness” in the northern province of Bac Giang.
