Bac Giang strictly manages foreign laborers at industrial parks

(BGO) – On March 16, Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Anh Duong cum Vice head of the provincial Steering Committee’s Standing Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control (Steering Committee) paid a field trip to the Management Board of the provincial industrial parks (IP).

The delegates inspected Lux Share ITC Company Limited at Quang Chau IP (Viet Yen district) which is specialized at manufacturing the electrical and electronic cables with about 24,000 Vietnamese laborers.

At the IP Management Board, leader of the Board briefly reported about the actual situation of Covid-19 prevention and control, particularly managing and controlling the foreigners.

Now there are nearly 2,500 foreigner laborers working at the provincial IPs, including some 1,700 Chinese experts and workers. Of the figure, 50 people are isolated at the concentrated site while 40 others are self quarantined at the residing locations.

4 enterprises arrange Vietnamese and Chinese laborers to stay together at the apartments in the factories who have yet to receive the working permit from the IP Management Board.

Concluding the inspection, PPC Vice Chairman Duong urged the IP Management Board to coordinate with the provincial Public Security to enhance the state management measures to the laborers residing at Lux Share ITC Co.,Ltd; timely provide the information of the cases leaving and entering the country; checking the passport validity of the foreign experts and workers so as to ensure to correctly obey Vietnamese law.

The businesses were requested to seriously conduct the declaration of temporary residence. In case the firms need short-term foreign laborers to the IPs, they must report to the public security force to have proper inspection and management.

The provincial leader specially noted that the IP Management Board should well prevent and control the epidemic at the businesses to ensure the IP as a truly safe place. Any business employs laborers who enter Vietnam after isolating 14 days in the third country must be quarantined for 3 days more and conduct medical test as regulation.
