Bac Giang strives to complete site clearance for provincial road upgrading project in May

Updated: 15:51, 08/04/2021
(BGO) - Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong on April 7 inspected the progress of implementing a build-transfer (BT) project to upgrade Provincial Road 292 in Lang Giang district.

The project has a total length of 8.3km, starting from the point intersecting with National Road 1 at Km99+100 in Kep township and ending at Bo Ha Bridge in Nghia Hung commune. The road is built under the plain grade III road standard, with a 12m-wide foundation and an 11m surface. The project will also build 30m-long Dong Bridge and 8.4m-long Tay Bridge.

The total investment is more than 180 billion VND (7.78 million USD), of which, nearly 50 billion VND is reserved for site clearance. The Hanoi-based HUD2 Housing and Urban Development Joint Stock Company signed a contract to implement the project.

Kicking off in early January, the project is building trenches along the two sides of the road through residential areas to shape the road. A widened road foundation at Km4+650 (in An Ha and Nghia Hoa communes) is also under construction.

To clear grounds for project implementation, the Lang Giang district People's Committee has directed communes and townships to concentrate highly on this work. To date, the clearance of traffic safety corridor and agricultural land has basically been completed with 115 households and individuals involved.

After the inspection and exchanges with relevant units, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong requested the People's Committee of Lang Giang district and telecommunications, electricity and clean water businesses to be more active in site clearance. He emphasized the need to implement open and democratic dialogues with residents to reach consensus, striving to complete the site clearance in May 2021.

The construction unit should coordinate to support the relocation of works located in the clearance corridor, and promptly implement the project immediately after clean grounds are available. This is a key route holding an important significance in trade and socio-economic development, with a large traffic flow, so attention should be paid to ensuring traffic safety and limiting dust generation, thus creating favorable conditions for locals’ travel and daily activities.

Provincial Road 292’s section running through Lang Giang district is now seriously degrading. However, the project to upgrade the section is hindered by some telecommunications, electricity and clean water works.

For the reciprocal project to build a residential area in Mau village, Thai Dao commune on an area of 11.3 hectares, the provincial leader asked Lang Giang district and the investor to actively and proactively prepare the conditions necessary to obtain the investment plan approval. Next, they should carry out compensation for site clearance; while relevant departments and agencies will give evaluations for the early implementation of the project.
