Bac Giang urged to promote development of key agricultural areas

Bac Giang province should promote the development of key agricultural cultivation areas, while improving infrastructure and facilitating production and consumption of agricultural products.

The suggestion was made by Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong during his visit to work with local authorities in Luc Ngan district, in the northern province of Bac Giang, on June 15.

Reports at the working session showed that in promoting its advantages, Luc Ngan has focused on developing fruit trees of all kinds with nearly 28,000 hectares. In 2019, the total area of litchi in the whole district has reached 15,290 ha, with an estimated output of 80,000 tonnes. So far, the district has harvested and consumed over 44,200 tonnes of fresh litchi.

Praising the achievements of Luc Ngan in its socio-economic development, Politburo member Vuong urged the district to pay attention to maintaining sustainability in the new rural area construction.

He also suggested that Luc Ngan promote its advantages in fruit trees and continue to improve the quality and efficiency of its crops, to bring local products to hotels and high-end markets, as well as improving the quality of varieties.

During the trip, Vuong and his entourage also visited Ngot village - a typical model of new rural area construction in Hong Giang commune. In working with the local leaders, Vuong shared in the villagers’ joy for their achievements, stating that the new rural area construction model in Ngot village needs to be replicated.

Over 13,000 tonnes of fresh lychee exported via Tan Thanh border gate
More than 13,000 tonnes of fresh lychees, worth nearly US$3.5 million in total, have been exported to China via the Tan Thanh border gate in Lang Son province since May 13.
More than 500 purchasing points of lychee set up in Bac Giang
(BGO) – In June 6, Bac Giang lychees enjoyed good consumption with stable high price of 32 – 50,000 VND (1.37 – 2.14 USD) per kilograms and 42 – 65,000 VND (1.78 – 2.78 USD) per kilogram of early ripen lychee.  
100 tonnes of lychees exported via Lao Cai border gate
(BGO) – The Customs Division at Lao Cai Border Gate (Lao Cai province) cleared the customs procedures for over 110 tonnes of fresh lychee from May 7 to June 3, mostly originated from Bac Giang province to export to China via Kim Thanh International Border Gate Road No.2, worth 34.4 million USD.
Saigon Co.op takes northern lychees around the country
The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op) will buy 500-700 tonnes of thieu lychees, a unique fruit grown in the northern province of Bac Giang’s Luc Ngan District, this year, 25 percent more than in 2018.
Luc Ngan lychee week slated on June 7 in Hanoi
(BGO) – The People Committee in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) on June 4 held a press conference about the Lychee Week and Forum of Connecting the Production and Consumption of Luc Ngan Lychee and Signature Products (Week and Forum) at the Hanoi Center of Exhibition, Introduction and Distribution of Safe Food and Farm Produce in Hanoi.
