Bac Giang’s orchards welcome visitors on lychee season

(BGO) – On every lychee season, the orchard owners in the northern province of Bac Giang warmly welcome visitors to enjoy and experience the fruit orchard though they are very busy harvesting the lychee, leaving deep impression on visitors for Bac Giang land and people.
Warmly welcome visitors

Visiting the orchard of early ripen lychee of Bui Van Chinh in Thai Hoa village, Phuc Hoa commune, Tan Yen district, we are warmly received by its 70 year old owner. After taking a tour around, we not only enjoyed the fresh fruits here but also brought the specialties home as a gift.

Visitors enjoy the fruit orchard experience and take photo with the ripen lychees.

Many households in Phuc Hoa commune are always ready to welcome visitors, especially on the peak harvest time of early ripen lychee to experience the local orchards.

According to Director of Phuc Hoa Production and Consumption Cooperative for early ripen lychee Nguyen Van Thiet, the commune has 600 ha growing lychee, 300 ha of which are recognized as VietGAP standard. This year, the fruits are big and good looking that draw numerous visitors.

Since early season, the orchards in Luc Ngan district have welcomed many visitors to enjoy the sweet fruit season.

Developing orchard tourism model

For recent year, Luc Ngan district in particular and several localities with huge fruit growing area in general have oriented to develop the fruit harvest season into community and orchard based tourism.

Permanent Vice Chairman of Luc Ngan district People’s Committee Truong Van Nam said the district has recently selected fine orchards to welcome visitors on lychee season which are cultivated under VietGAP and GlobalGAP procedures.

Regarding the households selected as tourism destination, apart from orchard with safe and good looking fruits, they must meet the requirements of convenient accommodation and transport. The owners are instructed to conduct several skills to welcome the tourists, pick them up, introduce about the products and local cultural identities.

Nguyen Van Quyen in Kep 1 village, Hong Giang commune, Luc Ngan district shared: “On every lychee season, my family is selected by district authority to welcome visitors. Though it takes a lot of time to guide them, they buy big quantity of products”.

Quyen said his family has annually welcomed 200 delegations for 4 recent years. Now he grows 300 lychees at 25 years old. Last year, he earned some 500 million VND (21,551 USD). As schedule, his family will gain the equivalent amount for this year crop.

Now, it comes to the main lychee season, thus not only traders but also visitors in and outside the province flock to the districts with huge volume of lychee such as Luc Ngan, Luc Nam and Yen The to buy the fruits and visit the fruit land.

The practical activities of the local authority and residents on lychee season have created good impression on visitors about the friendly and hospitality land of Bac Giang. It is an important premise for the province to develop ecological and orchard tourism on ripen fruit seasons.

Bustling atmosphere in ripe lychee season
In the early days of June, people in the two districts of Thanh Ha (Hai Duong province) and Luc Ngan (Bac Giang province) harvest lychees in a husty and eager manner. The 2020 crop is looking to to be a fruitful season for lychee farmers, with production levels and selling prices both increasing.

(BGO) – After one week selling Luc Ngan lychee online via MoMo pocket, to date over 37 tonnes of fruits have been sold online to customers in Ho Chi Minh city.
Chinese traders start buying lychee
(BGO) – The Steering Board for Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) on June 16 granted the Certificate of Medical Quarantine Completion for pandemic prevention to 21 Chinese traders to buy lychee in Luc Ngan district. Thus, they started buying the fruits directly from June 17.

Lychee consumed to export to US market
(BGO) – Vina T&T Group on June 11 started buying lychees in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) to export to the US.
