To date, the province has 161 humanitarian boxes placed at 100 percent of provincial and district hospitals, historical relic sites, cultural sites, supermarket, restaurants...
Annually, the donated amount of 5 – 10 million VND (216 – 432 USD) per box is spent on presenting gifts and scholarships to orphan students as well as supporting the expense to repair the house for hundreds of poor people to reduce the difficulties and improve the living.
As one of the active agencies to coordinate with the provincial RCS in implementation, the Bac Giang Post launched 10 humanitarian boxes at the center station and the first and second level posts in 9 districts in May. The Director of Bac Giang Post Hua Dinh Thuyen said the new model is warmly welcomed by the officers and staff in the sector as well as customers.
Besides, 3 humanitarian boxes are effectively implemented at Big C Bac Giang Commercial Center which was one of the first agency to implement the model in the province.
From the annually donated amount of 20 million VND (864 USD), Big C Bac Giang joins hand with the provincial RCS to present meaningful Tet gifts to the poor in the province.
Do Thi Duyen in Xuan Phu commune (Yen Dung district) said: “I often visit Big C Bac Giang to buy the necessities. When seeing the humanitarian box placed here, I donate a little amount each time to share with the impoverished”.
Under the motto “accumulating little to big amount”, the place of humanitarian box will help widespread the humane value and meaning in the community. The provincial RCS has managed the fund strictly and transparently together with boosting up the communication and mobilization of various donation so as to further promote the efficiency of the model.
On every 6 months or once per year, the provincial RCS coordinates with the owner of the location on which the humanitarian box is placed to open it and check then hand over the donated amount. After that, the needy case will be selected to receive the gift.
Thanks to the above method, the provincial RCS continues creating strong belief and enhancing the coordination effectiveness to gain more expense to help the poor via meaningful model.
