Humanitarian box helps widespread humanity in society

(BGO) – The Red Cross Society (RCS) in the northern province of Bac Giang has actively coordinated with the agencies and enterprises in the province to widely spread the “Humanitarian box”, which is a meaningful activity to call for various sources to share and help the needy cases to conquer the life challenges.  

According to Chairwoman of the provincial RCS Le Thi Duyen, since 2009 the provincial RCS has launched the programme to build Humanitarian box. All levels of RCS organized wide communication and selected to open the box at suitable places with a lot of passersby so as to attract many donors.

Leaders, officers and staff at Bac Giang Post and provincial RCS donate to “Humanitarian box”.

To date, the province has 161 humanitarian boxes placed at 100 percent of provincial and district hospitals, historical relic sites, cultural sites, supermarket, restaurants...

Annually, the donated amount of 5 – 10 million VND (216 – 432 USD) per box is spent on presenting gifts and scholarships to orphan students as well as supporting the expense to repair the house for hundreds of poor people to reduce the difficulties and improve the living.

As one of the active agencies to coordinate with the provincial RCS in implementation, the Bac Giang Post launched 10 humanitarian boxes at the center station and the first and second level posts in 9 districts in May. The Director of Bac Giang Post Hua Dinh Thuyen said the new model is warmly welcomed by the officers and staff in the sector as well as customers.

Besides, 3 humanitarian boxes are effectively implemented at Big C Bac Giang Commercial Center which was one of the first agency to implement the model in the province.

From the annually donated amount of 20 million VND (864 USD), Big C Bac Giang joins hand with the provincial RCS to present meaningful Tet gifts to the poor in the province.

Do Thi Duyen in Xuan Phu commune (Yen Dung district) said: “I often visit Big C Bac Giang to buy the necessities. When seeing the humanitarian box placed here, I donate a little amount each time to share with the impoverished”.

Under the motto “accumulating little to big amount”, the place of humanitarian box will help widespread the humane value and meaning in the community. The provincial RCS has managed the fund strictly and transparently together with boosting up the communication and mobilization of various donation so as to further promote the efficiency of the model.

On every 6 months or once per year, the provincial RCS coordinates with the owner of the location on which the humanitarian box is placed to open it and check then hand over the donated amount. After that, the needy case will be selected to receive the gift.

Thanks to the above method, the provincial RCS continues creating strong belief and enhancing the coordination effectiveness to gain more expense to help the poor via meaningful model.

Sharing difficulties with the poor, showing solidarity
(BGO) – During the Action Month for the Poor (from October 17 to November 18), agencies at all levels, sectors, units and social organizations in Bac Giang province have implemented many activities to share difficulties with the poor.
Bac Giang: Rate of poor household down 2.24 percent in 2019
(BGO) – According to the primary reviewing result of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Bac Giang province has more than 23,200 poor households in 2019, accounting for 5.05 percent. Comparing to 2018, the figure reduced  more than 9,800 poor households (down 2.24 percent). 
Bac Giang responds to Action month for the poor
(BGO) – On November 8, the Red Cross Society (RCS) in the northern province of Bac Giang coordinated with Phan Anh Pharmaceutical Medical Material Joint Stock Company and Medical Center in Son Dong district to organize free health examination and consultation and present gifts to students in Van Son Primary School. 
Tet for the poor and AO victims
(BGO) – The  Red Cross Society in the northern province of Bac Giang has recently launched the movement “Tet  for the Poor and Agent Orange Victims”, lasting from November 1, 2019 till February 1, 2020. 
Hiep Hoa diversifies activities for the poor
(BGO) – The social welfare activities for the poor in Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) have recently attracted positive response from the people of all strata. The Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) at all levels has boosted up the communication and mobilized all sources to diversify the support for the needy.
