In your opinion, what are the advantages of Bac Giang province in tourism development?

Bac Giang province has an advantageous location on the economic corridor route of Lang Son – Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh near the key Northern economic region; adjacent to Hanoi capital and the provinces of Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Thai Nguyen.

There is an integration of the delta and mountainous areas with about 133,000 hectares of forestry lands, creating attractive landscapes and precious natural resource to lure the investment projects to develop the ecotourism, discovery tourism, sports tourism and adventurous tourism; typically Tay Yen Tu Natural Reserve Site, Suoi Mo Ecological Tourism Site, Cam Son lake and Nham Bien mountain range…

Additionally, Bac Giang has a diverse culture by the interference of ancient Vietnamese and Tay – Nung cultures with a rich old history and culture featuring more than 2,000 relics across the province.

Can you brief the results of investment attraction in the local tourism for recent years?

The Standing Board of the provincial Party’s Committee issued the Resolution No.44-NQ/TU dated on March 30, 2016, on tourism development in the period of 2016 – 2020. Accordingly, many execution plans have been announced with several outstanding tourism projects such as Yen Dung Resort and Golf Club with a total investment of 1.6 trillion VND (71.2 million USD); Tay Yen Tu Spiritual and Ecological Tourism Complex totally worth 1.4 trillion VND (over 64 million USD)…

The foreign tourists visit and enjoy the signature products in Bac Giang city.

Particularly in 2018, the province successfully organized the conference on tourism investment promotion where the provincial leaders handed over decisions to approve for the policy of investment and certificate of investment registration or memorandum of understanding for 16 big travel projects with total registered or committed capital reaching 35.3 trillion VND (over 1.5 billion USD).

Additionally, the provincial People’s Committee approved for the policy of investment in the projects of Hang Dau Cleft Ecological Site in Nham Son commune (Yen Dung district) with the total value of 498 billion VND (21.4 million USD).

Can you name the challenges and shortcomings in investment attraction?

The nonsynchronous traffic infrastructure remains the big challenge to Bac Giang in drawing the investment in the local tourism site and complex. The accommodation and service are under developing stage with small and scattered scale. Meanwhile, several sectors and localities are not really active in investment promotion so it is hard to lure the investors with experience and capital potential in the tourism sector.

So, what are the measures to achieve good investment attraction in tourism?

Apart from completing the investor’s preferential policy and mechanism, the DoPI will consult the provincial People’s Committee on mobilizing the budget to synchronously develop the infrastructure outside the tourism sites; facilitating and promoting the projects which have been executed as well as drawing more 3-5 star hotel projects in the upcoming time.

Tay Yen Tu Spiritual and Ecological Tourism Complex in Son Dong district draws numerous visitors.

Besides, the linkage should be increased to the attractions in and outside the province, including Mau Son (Lang Son province), Nui Coc lake (Thai Nguyen province), Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc)…while actively creating the unique and attractive tourism products with local identity, tourism symbol. Special attention will be paid to boosting the communication and promotion activities as well as training the qualified tourism human source.

The necessary work is to continue preserving and restoring the degraded historical relics, upgrading the facilities and landscapes for tourism development, supporting in job change to the locals in the tourism project areas, ensuring the public order and environmental sanitation.

Regular inspection will be done to give timely and suitable instruction to each locality, hence luring more and more domestic and foreign visitors to Bac Giang province.
