Meaningful "Green Operation" campaign

(BGO) - As a tradition, in July every year, officers and soldiers of the armed forces in Bac Giang organize many gratitude activities. This year, the provincial Military Command has implemented a campaign titled "Green Operation" with many meaningful activities to pay tribute to policy beneficiary families and people who rendered services to the revolution.

Soldiers come to make policy beneficiary families happy

The provincial Military Command has organized the "Green Operation" campaign with the participation of thousands of officers and soldiers from the unit and the district and city Military Commands.

Officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Yen The district help the family of war invalids Nguyen Le Hung repair their house.

Not being afraid of hot weather, the soldiers went to localities to help families of contributors to the revolution, wounded and sick soldiers repair and build houses and harvest crops as well as provide them with free medical examination and treatment, and medicine

The family of Nguyen Le Hung (born in 1950), an invalid in Phon Xuong township (Yen The district), has just had their old house repaired with support of 20 officers and soldiers of the district armed forces and militia in coordination with local authorities.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Ninh, Political Commissar of the district Military Command, said that invalid Nguyen Le Hung has difficult circumstances and weak health. His wife died prematurely while his two married daughters live far away. He is caring for his mother of over 90 years old. Seeing such difficulties, the unit proposed the local authorities support his family.

In addition to helping Hung build his house, the armed forces of Yen The district has also assisted 50 other families of revolution contributors such as Ha Thi Va (wife of martyr Ha Van Man) in La Lanh hamlet, Dong Vuong commune in harvesting crops, and Nong Thi Thanh in Rung Chieng village, Tien Thang commune in caring orchards.

Sharing the same joy with war veteran Nguyen Le Hung, the family of Nguyen The Sang, a sick soldier in Dong Minh village, Hoang Thanh commune (Hiep Hoa district) has just received a house of gratitude built with 80 million VND (3,450 USD) donated by the Military Region 1 Command and workdays by officers and soldiers of the district armed forces and his relatives.

Implementing the "Green Operation" campaign, nearly 50 officers and soldiers of the provincial Military Command visited, presented gifts, and provided free check-ups and medicine for about 300 revolution contributors, wounded and sick soldiers in Hiep Hoa and Tan Yen districts.

At the destinations, the regards and responsible attention of the army physicians, officers and soldiers have brought joy to wounded and sick soldiers and people who rendered services to the nation.

Grateful forever

Participating in the "Green Operation" campaign, every officer and soldier of the provincial armed forces feels excited and proud.

Captain Tran Van Binh, Youth Assistant at the provincial Military Command, said the previous soldier generations overcome many difficulties and hardships, as well as sacrificed part of their body and even their lives to defend the Fatherland and build the national independence so that we can enjoy a peaceful and prosperous life and freedom like today. Therefore, our generation is always grateful to families with contributions to the nation, which is also the tradition "Drink water, remember the source" of our nation.

According to Colonel Nguyen Trong Chung, Deputy Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command, during the wars for national liberation as well as the national construction and defence, Bac Giang province has contributed a lot of human and material resources.

In order to well implement the army rear policy, the provincial armed forces have actively coordinated with departments, agencies and mass organizations to advise the provincial Party Committee and government to set up a steering committee for realising policies under the Prime Minister decisions, organise gratitude activities, visit, present gifts, and provide free check-ups and medicine to policy beneficiaries and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, contributing to improving their material and spiritual lives.

(BGO) – On the occasion of 73rd anniversary of Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day July 27 (1947 - 2020), the member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of Bac Giang provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council Bui Van Hai on July 21 visited and presented gifts to two national contributors in Hiep Hoa district.

The localities around the country and organisations in Hanoi have held many practical activities to pay tribute to national contributors on the occasion of upcoming War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day (July 27).
Requiem commemorates martyrs in Nghe An
A requiem ceremony was held at the Vietnam – Lao Martyrs Cemetery in the central province of Nghe An on July 18 to commemorate soldiers, volunteers and military experts who laid down their lives on the Lao battlefield.
