meet the market demand in 2023 lychee season, Loi Lien Plastic Company Limited
in Quy Son commune, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has invested nearly
7 billion VND (over 300,000 USD) to install three plastic basket production
lines with total capacity of 10,000 pieces per day and night.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, this year the province expects to yield 180,000 tonnes of lychee on total area of 29,700 hectares (up 1,400 hectares against last year figure), including 98,000 tonnes in Luc Ngan district, 17,000 tonnes in Tan Yen districts …

Luc Ngan district strives to consume 78,300 tonnes of fresh lychees (accounting for nearly 80 percent of quantity), including 43,300 tonnes for export.
To meet the demand for traders, Loi Lien Plastic Company Limited has invested over 300,000 USD to install three plastic basket production lines with total capacity of 10,000 pieces per day and night. The production line was imported from China with verification from authority.
In early May 2023, the company will operate the production line to produce 5 to 6 million pieces of plastic baskets (each can contain 8 to 15kg of lychee without stem) to pack fresh lychee for export.
Huang Shiwen, a Chinese trader said: “Last year, I had to transport plastic baskets from China to Luc Ngan with high additional cost so I only bought 700 tonnes of lychee. This year, the purchasing will be more smooth because the plastic basket is available”.

Bac Giang urges to transport lychee by train

People’s Committee Nguyen The Thi has worked with Railway Transport and Trading
Joint Stock Company (Ratraco) under Vietnam Railways about lychee transport
programme in 2023 via Kep station in Lang Giang district.
Tan Yen prepares condition to consume early ripening lychees

condition of early ripening lychees this year, the People’s Committee in Tan
Yen district (Bac Giang province) requested competent agencies to enhance
inspection and supervision at the growing areas, packaging facilities in order
to ensure safety and qualification for domestic market and export demand.

gardens in Bac Giang province are now under flowering stage with high rate of
90 – 95 percent. Local competent agencies have actively instructed farmers to
care for the fruit trees.

Therefore, many farmers in Bac Giang province have shifted from other fruit
trees to lychee. This fact requires the provincial agricultural sector and
local authorities to actively grasp the situation and give timely
recommendations to farmers so as to keep the lychee growing area stable, avoiding
massive conversion.
