Vietnam female badminton team stops at team semifinal
The first game was the single competition between Vietnamese player Nguyen Thuy Linh (No.57 at the women’s singles World Badminton Federation (WBF) ranking) and Indonesian athlete Gregoria Maiska TunJung (No.30).

After losing the first game, Thuy Linh quickly changed the strategy with nice shots to win at the second one to draw 1-1 to the stronger rival. By such a flexible performance, Vietnamese player won the third game and overall match.
The women’s doubles match was held between Pham Thi Khanh and Than Van Anh versa Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti who was Olympic champion. Though Vietnamese duo exerted all efforts, they must stop by much stronger competitors.
Both players Vu Thi Trang and Putri Kusuma Wardan seemed to be the same with close points. Finishing the match, Indonesia athlete defeated Trang 2-1 after three games.
At second women’s doubles match, Vietnamese duo Do Thi Hoai and Pham Nhu Thao could not win Febby Valencia DWijayanti Gani and Ribka Sugiarto. So, Indonesia delegation won overall match with score 3-1.
At the women’s team semifinal, Thailand players had 3-0 convincing victory over Singapore rivals to enter final round of women’s team together with Indonesia while Thailand and Malaysia are two delegations to vie for gold at the men’s team final.
