Bac Giang agriculture makes changes for integration

(BGO) - Bac Giang agricultural sector has prepared very first steps for integration process with robust development and positive changes of agricultural structure.

The provincial Party Executive Committee promulgated the Resolution No 145-NQ/TU dated 14 July 2011 on building new-style rural areas of Bac Giang province until 2020. On that basis, the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee specified and issued proper policies to suit real situation, which have been proactively implemented by the localities.

Besides, a number of policies have been promoted efficiency and supported by the community such as concreting rural roads, inter-hamlet and field roads, supporting land consolidation and large-field establishment and building high-tech farm models.

By the end of 2019, 114 out of 203 communes met the new-style rural area standards, accounting for 56.2 percent. 124 out of 184 communes are estimated to meet the standards by the end of 2020, taking 67.4 percent (up 27.4 percent against the target until 2020) including 8 model new-style rural communes, 3 localities of Viet Yen, Lang Giang and Tan Yen recognized as new-style rural districts and all communes of Bac Giang city reaching the standards. All of 10 districts and city have standardized communes.

The percentage of agricultural, forestry and fishery labour decreased to 36.7 percent by 2019 while income per capita in rural areas reached 38 million VND (1,600 USD) per year and it is expected to reach about 40 million VND (1,700 USD) in 2020, 3.2 times higher than 2011.

The province has paid attention to restructuring agricultural sector and developing concentrated commodity production depending on the locality capacity. Planting sector moves toward large-scale production and linkage under value chains. Advanced production standards have been expanded while advanced science and technology had been improved.

To date, the province has established 246 high-tech farm production models including 40 hectares of veggies and flowers, 10,500 hectares of safe vegetable and about 15,000 hectares of lychee following VietGap and GlobalGap standards.

Livestock moves toward farming and close production chain while boosting livestock models following VietGap standards. Aquaculture is developed under intensive and semi-intensive models following VietGap standards and bio safety.

There are 2 groups of products including major group with 52 key, signature and potential products and group of local specialties.

Rural services and industries development have been paid due attention with positive change. The province made planning on rural industries and trade development. Some traditional trade villages have been re-organized and proactively taken part in the “One commune one product” programme contributing to creating jobs and raising incomes for local people.

Hundreds of scientific and technological projects in agriculture have been applied. The province now has 60 products trademarked including 1 geographical indication, 4 trademark recognitions and 55 collective marks.

Trade promotion to create stable consumption market for farm produce has been attached importance by the provincial leaders and localities with a number of solutions like lychee, Yen The chicken, orange and pomelo consumption promotion, Luc Ngan fruit festival and “one commune, one product” festival. Thereby, the province’s farm products have been distributed under linkage chains to some provinces and cities and export market.

Hundreds of scientific and technological projects in agriculture have been applied. The province now has 60 products trademarked including 1 geographical indication, 4 trademark recognitions and 55 collective marks.

The production models have been renovated and developed in both quantity and quality, which have gradually enhanced efficiency, adapted to market mechanism and facilitated the households’ economic well-being.

Investment attraction to rural areas has been also paid attention. About 3 percent of the enterprises operate in agriculture, forestry and fishery. The province provided special policies to encourage investment in agriculture and rural areas and approved 9 lists of projects for investment incentives in agriculture and rural areas in 2020.

Bac Giang to open farm produce store and promote Luc Ngan orange, pomelo in Hanoi in early December
(BGO) – According to the Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), to develop and promote the trademark as well as focus on consuming Luc Ngan orange, pomelo and signature, key and potential products of Bac Giang province in Hanoi city, the DoIT planned to open a store on December 1, 2019 in Hanoi to sell the key and signature agricultural products of the province as well as promote Luc Ngan orange and pomelo.  
Increase value of signature farm produce
(BGO) – Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) has many signature products preferred by a wide range of customers such as Thai Son glutinous rice, Hoang Luong water dropwort and Van Chung cake among others. The district is now highly focusing on increasing the productivity and quality as well as building the trademark to improve the economic value for the farm produce.

(BGO)- In 2019, the Department of Industry and Trade supported enterprises and cooperatives producing under the value chain in Bac Giang province in packaging design, labeling and stamping origin traceability helping them to improve goods value and boost consumption.
Bac Giang boosts farm produce trademark development towards clean agriculture
(BGO)- The northern province of Bac Giang is endowed with rich land, favourable terrain and climate to develop high-tech agriculture with many kinds of valuable farm produce. As defining it a strength of the local, Bac Giang province has provided a number of policies and schemes to support farmers and accelerate investment attraction in agriculture especially commodity products for export.
Luc Nam: Two more farm produce granted protection certificate for collective brand
(BGO) – The National Office of  Intellectual Property of Vietnam (under Ministry of Science and Technology) has granted the protection certificate for the collective brand of two farm products in Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province including Kham Lang taro of Agricultural Service Cooperative in Kham Lang commune and Bac Lung sweet potato in Bac Lung Agricultural Service Cooperative.
