It will strive for all of the schools in operation for 5 years to meet the national standards at level 1, including at least 30 percent among them reaching the level-2 standards.

Annually, the city and its wards and communes review the status of school facilities to make plan for construction and improvement, which is a basis for the municipal people’s committee to allocate fund and resolve problems following a specific roadmap with a priority for the localities facing difficulties in school facilities.

Thanks to involvement of the all-level party committee and government, Bac Giang city has built hundreds of new classrooms, function rooms and auxiliary buildings while repairing and improving many items.

Particularly, the construction blocks of Tan Tien pre-school, Tan My and Minh Khai primary schools were completed and brought into use in the academic year 2023-2024. Besides, the city finished purchasing tables and chairs for 15 public schools in the locality.

Bac Giang city pays continuous attention to education and training development when it will spend 31 billion VND (1.23 million USD) to repair, improve and upgrade 11 schools (including playgrounds, classrooms, offices and canteens) in the school year 2024-2025. The schools and classrooms were designed modernly meeting the standards. In addition, the city will allocate 5 billion VND (198,759 USD) to provide equipment for educational facilities in the locality.

Striving to complete the projects ahead schedule

Nearly 100 workers are hurriedly working on the construction site of Dinh Tri Kindergarten when excavators, rollers and trucks are moving busily. Engineers and workers here often have to work over time to hand over the project ahead the new school year.

According to Hoang Thi Ha, Head of Dinh Tri Kindergarten, the teachers and children of the school are very happy to use a new modern building in the school year 2024-2025, which motivates the school’s officials and teachers to better their educational and training work and strive for the school to meet the national standards at level 2.

There are 2 branches of Dong Thanh primary school in Xuong Giang ward. While the school facilities at the 2nd headquarter has been newly built, its 1st headquarter in Chua Thanh residential group is old and deteriorated. In order to meet the teaching and learning demand, the people’s committee of Bac Giang city approved the project to build the 1st branch of Dong Thanh primary school in late 2022. The project is located on an area of 8,700 square metre, worth some 64.2 billion VND (2.55 million USD). The construction scale meets the demand of 1,000 students.

To be ready for the new school year 2024-2025, the people’s committee of Bac Giang city urged the contractors to speed up construction progress of the schools and classrooms while asking the schools to purchase necessary equipment and school supplies.
