Bac Giang lychee firstly promoted at Vietnam Festival in Japan
The festival was held on June 4-5. Vietnam Trade Office in Japan joined hands with provincial People’s Committee, Ameii Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Toan Cau Import Export Joint Stock Company directly introduce fresh lychee to festival visitors who tasted the sweetness of local specialty.

According to Ta Duc Minh, Vietnam Trade Counselor in Japan, Vietnam Festival has been annually held in Tokyo by Vietnam Embassy to Japan since 2008 as one of the events to promote Vietnamese image in the country, hence helping enhance cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the people of two countries.
After long negotiation, Vietnam fresh lychee was approved to import to this market by Japanese Government on December 15, 2019.
“In summer, Vietnamese lychee is one of imported fruits in the waiting list of many Japanese customers. In 2020 and 2021 seasons, the fruit successfully penetrated into Japanese market with imported quantity of 40 tonnes in the first year and 300 - 400 tonnes in the second year,” said Minh.
