Bac Giang modernizes facilities to ensure good healthcare for people
Streamline the organization and modernize the facilities
The medical network has changed according to the social development toward the motto of streamline, effectiveness and efficiency. 35 professional units in 2015 was reduced down to 21 ones in 2020. The district medical establishments were reorganized to be medical centers.
After establishment and reorganization, the medical facilities are effectively operated to meet the demand in current and future period.

The medical infrastructure is regularly invested and repaired so as to ensure the green-clean-beautiful standard regulated by the Ministry of Health. The Hospital of Endocrinology and Tumor were newly built, the Hospital of Traditional Medicine was moved to a spacious location while the provincial General Hospital and Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital were invested to upgrade the modern facility with increased bed scales.
The province now has 4 first class medical establishments, 10 second class medical facilities, 7 third class medical centers. The medical stations were invested to repair and build to ensure the communal medical standard of the Ministry of Health.
The number of commune meeting the national medical standard in second period increased up to 98.26 percent (2019) from 73.9 percent (2015). The medical equipment and devices have received timely investment to meet the demand of hospital development and ensure the facilities to conduct the intensive and high technique.
Accordingly, many hospitals, general clinics and private professional establishments have been founded in almost all of the districts and city to facilitate the citizens in the province and other adjacent localities to access to the healthcare service with improved quality.
Technique development
Apart from investing in the facilities, the hospitals and medical centers have actively conducted training courses to foster and enhance the profession for the doctors and nurses via the project of satellite hospitals, linkage programme to transfer the technique from the Central Top Leading ones.
Thus, the provincial medical sector have achieved outstanding progresses in healthcare and examination. Many new intensive techniques have been conducted with high effectiveness. Several specialized departments were established and delivered healthcare package as demand.
The medical socialization is widely implemented that basically meets the demand for health care and examination while several medical facilities linked to the top leading professional experts to provide the healthcare and checkup as demand as well as instruct the local health workers, transfer the technique and enhance the professional skill for provincial doctors and nurses.
Top priority given to enhance the healthcare quality
Facing to the disease transformation, change of financial mechanism to the medical units, human resources and higher demand for caring for people’s health, the medical sector continues reinforcing and developing the grass root and preventive medical systems so as to ensure sufficient condition and capability to prevent and control the diseases in the province with the first priority given to enhance the quality of healthcare service.

The medical sector oriented to develop the socialization services to ensure the people to access to sufficient medical service; boost up training for health workers and ensure the qualified profession; develop new intensive techniques, establish new specialized departments to increase the number of technique to be conducted at the district level as the Ministry of Health’s regulation.
The province targets to reduce the rate of malnutrition in children under 5 years old down to less than 10 percent, ensure sufficient vaccination to over 98 percent of children over 1 year old, 107,000 doctors per 10,000 residents as well as over 99 percent of population covered by health insurance by 2025.
Doctors will be assigned to work at all medical stations, 30 percent of which have 2 doctors. The province also strive to build 80 percent of the medical facilities at the district and city level to conduct the techniques as assignment by the Ministry of Health.
