Bac Giang promotes development of organic and circular agricultural production
BAC GIANG - The National Agricultural Promotion Center on June 5 cooperated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Giang province to organize the Agricultural Promotion Forum themed "Solutions promote the development of organic and circular agricultural production in the Northern midland and mountainous region" in Bac Giang city.
In his opening speech, Le Ba Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that Bac Giang has favorable natural conditions, land and climate to develop diverse agricultural production with many varieties of plants and animals.

In organic and circular agricultural production, Bac Giang province has issued many policies to promote development such as linking production with product consumption, supporting agriculture, forestry and fisheries, supporting seeds, encouraging OCOP product development.
To date, the whole province has 6 pilot models in the fields of cultivation and livestock production that have been certified to meet organic standards as well as many circular agriculture models with higher economic value than traditional production.

The forum was an opportunity for all sectors, levels, functional units, scientists and typical farming households to share information and discuss solutions to promote organic and circular agricultural production, enhance linkage in production and product consumption markets.
Also, it helped improve capacity and propagate information about organic and circular agricultural production toward raising value and sustainable development, building green agriculture in the future.

BAC GIANG – To date, Bac Giang province has consumed more than 20,000 tonnes of lychees, of which more than 14,000 tonnes were sold at domestic market and the rest was exported to China, Southeast Asia, Europe, United States, Australia and Japan.
BAC GIANG - Currently, localities in Bac Giang province have focused on harvesting early maturing lychees. As of May 30, the whole province harvested more than 14,000 tonnes of fresh lychees, including over 6,600 tonnes from Tan Yen district, 5,500 tonnes from Luc Ngan district and 850 tonnes from Luc Nam district among others.
Aeon Global Merchandising Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Japanese retailer AEON Group, plans to export about 30 tonnes of fresh lychees to Japan this year, up 120% from last year’s figure, according to the company’s representative.
BAC GIANG – It is now harvest season of Bac Giang lychee. Although this year's output has decreased compared to last year, due to the short harvest time, gardeners and traders need to mobilize more seasonal workers. Many people can earn from a few hundred thousand VND to millions of VND every day from harvesting, packing, loading and unloading, weighing and choosing the fruits.
Vietnam shipped an estimated 24.14 billion USD worth of agro-forestry-fishery products overseas during January-May, up 21% against the same time last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
BAC GIANG - Not only domestic consumption, Danh mountain ginseng in Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) also has many potentials to reach the world market. Seizing this opportunity, the party committees, local authorities, functional sectors, businesses and cooperatives have paid due attention to implementing many solutions to increase the value of local precious ginseng toward export.
