Bac Giang thoroughly prepares for 2023 Culture tourism week

The opening ceremony will be held on February 2 (the 12nd day of the first month in 2023) at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecotourism complex in Son Dong district.

The provincial level event is scheduled from the 11th to the 16th day of the lunar January, highlighting many activities such as the artshow “Buddhist music night” at Vinh Nghiem pagoda (Yen Dung district); procession of the set of woodblocks "Cu Tran Lac Dao Phu" to Thuong (Upper) Pagoda in Tay Yen Tu among others.
Truong Quang Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism (DCST) and Vice Head of the Organization Board for the Culture Tourism Week said after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 epidemic, this event has crucial meaning to promote the image of the Bac Giang land and people as well as lure more visitors.
For over two months, the provincial People’s Committee and provincial Organization Board have regularly directed the preparation task which is being urgently implemented by relevant units and localities.
These days, Tay Yen Tu Service Joint Stock Company has mobilized its entire staff to embellish the areas to launch the event. Besides arranging more parking lots on total area of 3 hectares, carrying out maintenance of 45 cable cars and 15 electric buses to serve visitors, the company invested more than 3 billion VND to prepare the stage, beautify the landscape so as to leave a good imprint on the tourists.
In Vinh Nghiem pagoda, the DCST has actively cooperated with local authority, competent forces, pagoda and others to well prepare for the artshow “Buddhist music night” in the evening of lunar January 11, 2023 and woodblock procession.
Creating good impression on visitors
At the busy year end occasion, hundred of actor, actress, student and monk actively practice for the upcoming show and the opening ceremony of the festival. The Buddhist music night themed “Vinh Nghiem - intellectual aura” will be held in new and unique style to tell a music story about the career, life and the journey to Buddhism of Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong together with the foundation and development of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism.

Especially, the opening ceremony of the Spring Festival and Culture Tourism Week introduces art show “Sacred Tay Yen Tu” to brief the Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong’s journey to the Buddhism. They are highlight of the event that are expected to create good impression on visitors.
Along with the opening ceremony, many activities will be organized such as a thematic exhibition "Buddhist sacred mark of Tay Yen Tu - Relics from the ground"; a spring newspaper festival; an exhibition featuring beautiful photos of socio-economic achievements; and folk game tournaments.
Vice Director of the provincial Museum Phung Thi Mai Anh shared that the museum is now cooperating with the consultants to complete copying 42 sets of woodblocks with Vietnamese translation to serve the procession ceremony; select nearly 200 outstanding artifacts mostly in Ly – Tran culture unearthed at Tay Yen Tu area and woodblocks of Vinh Nghiem pagoda for exhibition.
The districts, city and agencies have urgently launched responding activities in associated with festival in lunar January such as Xuong Giang Victory festival in Bac Giang city, Y Son festival in Hiep Hoa district, Vong temple festival in Tan Yen district among others.
With such thorough and active preparation from the Organization Board, the event promises to lure numerous visitors to Bac Giang, helping preserve, honor and promote the cultural value, unique and typical heritage of the province to boost the tourism and socio-eonomy.
