Binh Minh Organic Agriculture Cooperative invests intensively to create high quality products
Pig breeding chain helps increase benefit
The Cooperative was established in December 2016 with 8 members who are the pig raising households in two communes of Danh Thang and Luong Phong (Hiep Hoa district) with total herd of 5,000 heads per year.
At that time, the Cooperative only focused on feeding new self-made food to the pig and seek the consumption market.

In May 2019, the Cooperative opened the slaughtering and intensive processing systems to increase the product value. Currently, the pork and pork processing products are consumed mostly in Hanoi.
Brothers of Nguyen Van Vich and Nguyen Van Quyet in Khanh village, Luong Phong commune have lived on pig breeding for years but gained ineffective result due to the scattered farming and poor disease prevention.
In 2017, they signed the contract to raise pig for the Cooperative. Then, they only take care of the animal at their facilities while the Cooperative is responsible for the breed, food and raising procedure. Vich shared he has annually sold 1,000 pigs since 2017 to earn the benefit of over 200 million VND per household per year.
The family of Nguyen Thi Van in Tien Hung village, Thang town (Hiep Hoa district) normally raises 100 sows and over 1,000 pig for meat per year. Though she does her own business quite smoothly, she has linked to the Cooperative since 2018 because it buys the pig with higher price than the market one (2,000 VND per kg).
With the same method, to date the Cooperative has stably linked to 5 breeding facilities in and outside the district with total selling quantity of 12,000 pigs per years. The Cooperative’s Director Nguyen Ngoc Hai said the breeding “secrete” is the method to process the animal food and apply the disease safety breeding procedure.
Introducing the products further
With the organic breeding method, the Cooperative’s port has been sold to many distributors in and outside the province, including Huong Viet Sinh Company in Phuc Loi street, Long Bien district, Hanoi. The company representative directly visited the Cooperative and joined hand in building the control breeding product chain.
According to Bui Quang Huu, Vice General Manager of Huong Viet Sinh company said it has consumed all the pork produced by the Cooperative since the middle of 2018. These products are introduced to the canteens at the schools, the districts and Departments of Hanoi city.
“Normally we order 10 pigs from the Cooperative but when the students come back school, the number increases up to 30 pigs per day,” Huu shared. Particularly, the canteen of Government Office also orders the products from Huong Viet Sinh company.
To help the Cooperative promote the products, expand the production, the district Office of New Rural Style Coordination consulted the higher authority to support the Cooperative to design logo, print the label, build product trademark, install the refrigerator with total expense of nearly 300 million VND so as to make the Cooperative’s products become local OCOP. The Cooperative now supplies packed processing pork, pork paste and sausage, smoked pork...which are highly evaluated by the customers. The Cooperative creates job to 12 regular workers and slaughters 40 pigs per day on average.
