BAC GIANG - The Steering Committee for
Voluntary Blood Donation (Steering Board) of Hiep Hoa District (Bac Giang
province) and the Trade Union of Ha Phong Export Garment Joint Stock Company
(Ha Phong JSC) recently coordinated with Vietnam – German Hospital to organize
a blood and hair donation festival for cancer patients.
Previously, the Company's Trade Union promoted communication to raise the employees' awareness about blood transfusion and donation, arouse the spirit of solidarity and love for community life then encourage them to voluntarily participate in the humanitarian blood donation movement.

The event attracts a lot of participants.

The festival attracted more than 600 volunteers who donated 508 safe blood units to transfer to Vietnam German Hospital's blood bank for emergency and treatment, helping the district Steering Board receive more than 3,200 blood units in 2023, exceeding the target assign by the proivnce.
For many years, Hiep Hoa has been a typical locality in carrying out the voluntary blood donation campaign with numerous participants.
This is the third year that the District Steering Board has coordinated with the Company's Trade Union to organize a voluntary blood donation festival for union members and workers. Each time, the enterprise's workers donate 400-600 units of blood.

Blood donation drive inspires compatriotism among Vietnamese people
The Red Journey blood donation drive 2023 was held widely in 46 provinces and cities across the country. Throughout its 11 editions, the campaign has not only been established as an effective solution to address the shortage of blood for treatment every summer, but has also contributed to inspiring compatriotism, and mutual support for the Vietnamese people.
4,560 blood units donated at Red Journey Programme

After 2 months launching the 2023 Red Journey blood donation programme (from 1
June to 31 July), Bac Giang province has organized 4 voluntary blood donation
festivals attracting nearly 3,500 participants. The campaign has received 4,560
safe blood units, meeting the criteria of the Ministry of Health and exceeding
52 percent against the plan (3,000 units).
One Bac Giang citizen honored as national voluntary blood donor
(BGO) – The
National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation on July 29 joined
hands with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRS) and the
National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to organize an event in Hanoi to honor
100 national voluntary blood donors in 2023, one came from Bac Giang province.
