Covid-19 fight: Armed forces in Bac Giang raise sense of responsibility, show great love for people
Doing well mass mobilisation work
One day in mid-April, we and the Youth Union members of the provincial Military Command conducted a field trip to help the Kindergarten of Tan My commune (Bac Giang city) prevent and fight the Covid-19. From the early morning, nearly 30 soldiers carrying hoes, shovels and sprayers quickly came to the school to embark on work.

In the school premises, officers and soldiers pruned down trees, planted flowers, rearranged playing areas, and sprayed disinfectants on each classroom and campus. Relaxing after spraying disinfectants, Senior Lieutenant Dao Tien Chien Thang from Warehouse Company 29 of the Technical Division said "Carrying out the task of helping local people prevent and fight the pandemic, we are always ready and not afraid of any difficulties. We just hope the disease will end soon so that people's life will return to normal".

In many localities, the militia force has also actively assisted people in the Covid-19 combat. For example, the military boards of communes and townships in Hiep Hoa, Lang Giang and Yen The districts established quick response teams who have distributed more than 10,000 leaflets in villages and hamlets; guided people to strictly observe regulations such as keeping distance, wearing masks, washing hands frequently with disinfectant solutions and spraying disinfectants in public places such as markets, schools and medical stations.

Their access to information was limited. The unit sent officers and soldiers to keep a close watch on the area and go to each household to help them raise awareness of epidemic prevention and control”.
Successfully fulfilling tasks in quarantine areas
Colonel Le Van Thang, commander of the provincial Military Command, said: During the Covid-19 fight, we have directed units to perform well the task of assisting the people, especially those quarantined; coordinated with the provincial Department of Health and the provincial Public Security Department in arranging personnel on duty around the clock as well as ensuring logistics, health check and disinfection...
Undertaking the quarantine area in the Vocational School No. 12 of the Ministry of Defense, officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Lang Giang district renovated the electricity and water systems, cleaned the entire school area, installed 350 beds and furniture, and prepared necessities to receive nearly 200 citizens. Meanwhile, over the past two months, Regiment 831 of the provincial Military Command has received more than 1,000 Vietnamese citizens returning from epidemic-hit countries and territories.

This is a new task that the unit has never done before so it has mobilized all of its forces, added material supplies, prepared 350 beds and personal care items, and set up more canteens and checkpoints. Nguyen Thi Tho from Cau Giay district (Hanoi city) shared that “During the 14-day quarantine period, I received regular medical check-ups from doctors and nurses. All logistics, food and accommodation were guaranteed by soldiers. The days here will be my unforgettable memories".
