Handover ceremony of school clean water and latrine project donated by Latter Day Saint Charities

(BGO)- The people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district and Latter Day Saint Charities (LDSC), the United State of America jointly held an inauguration and handover ceremony of the construction project “clean water and adequate latrine at Dong Lo junior high school in Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province” on 29 May. This project is included in the community support program of LDSC, a nong-governmental organization.

The project of clean water and adequate latrine at Dong Lo junior high school was approved by the provincial People’s Committee at the Decision No 363/QD-UBND dated 11 March 2019 donated by LDSC with 16 stalls and hand - wash basins.

This is the 14th latrine project implemented by LDSC in Hiep Hoa district within 3 years. The project values at 739 million VND (31,562 USD) of which LDSC funded 664 million VND (28,359 USD) and the rest 75 million USD (3,203 USD) was counter fund of Dong Lo junior high school. It has come into operation after 2 months.

In acknowledgement of LDSC’s donation for building the school latrines in Hiep Hoa district, Ta Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district stressed, Dong Lo junior high school would use this new building properly. Besides, he expected LDSC would continue their attention and support for improving school facilities in the district.

Addressing at the inauguration and handover ceremony, Steven Stanford Holt, LDSC Country Director to Vietnam thanked the Department of Foreign Affairs and the people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district for their active collaboration in effective implementation of the project which directly benefited students of Dong Lo junior high school.

The project contributed to improving facilities of the school and ensuring school hygiene and environmental sanitation, thereby enhancing learning and teaching quality of the school bringing the students a better and comprehensive environment for development.

(BGO) – From October 26 till the end of November 4, the Heart Connection Club (under the Bac Giang provincial Red Cross Society) coordinated with the charitable clubs of Bac Giang Humanitarian Porridge and 1977 Dinh Ty to launch the donating campaign to raise the expense to build the humanitarian house for the specially difficult households in Son Dong district.
