GIANG – The Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Bac Giang province
on January 16 cooperated with the Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation
in Tan Yen district to launch first blood donation event in 2024 at the
district Cultural house in response of “Red Blood Festival”.
With the message "Every drop of blood given helps save a life", the District Steering board promoted propaganda and received active response of volunteers with the registration from more than 1,000 officers, civil servants, public employees, armed forces soldiers and people.

The event attracts many donors.

Through screening, basically all were eligible to donate blood. Some officials and employees have donated blood many times, such as Nguyen Hong Phong, Vice Principal of Phuc Son Kindergarten; Nguyen Duc Trung, Chairman of Cao Thuong Town Farmers' Association; Nguyen Thi Tuyet, officer of Quang Tien Commune Radio Station.

At the event, the Organizing Committee received more than 1,300 units of blood, reaching 80 percent of the yearly plan. This blood was transferred to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and Viet Duc Hospital for patient treatment during the Lunar New Year 2024.
On this occasion, the district Red Cross organized a campaign to donate hair for cancer patients. 50 people, including many young people, donated their hair for the patients.

Blood donation drive inspires compatriotism among Vietnamese people
The Red Journey blood donation drive 2023 was held widely in 46 provinces and cities across the country. Throughout its 11 editions, the campaign has not only been established as an effective solution to address the shortage of blood for treatment every summer, but has also contributed to inspiring compatriotism, and mutual support for the Vietnamese people.
4,560 blood units donated at Red Journey Programme

After 2 months launching the 2023 Red Journey blood donation programme (from 1
June to 31 July), Bac Giang province has organized 4 voluntary blood donation
festivals attracting nearly 3,500 participants. The campaign has received 4,560
safe blood units, meeting the criteria of the Ministry of Health and exceeding
52 percent against the plan (3,000 units).
One Bac Giang citizen honored as national voluntary blood donor
(BGO) – The
National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation on July 29 joined
hands with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRS) and the
National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to organize an event in Hanoi to honor
100 national voluntary blood donors in 2023, one came from Bac Giang province.
