Provincial leader orders to firmly maintain disease safety to sell lychee and develop economy

(BGO) – Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Anh Duong on June 9 paid a field trip to inspect the task of Covid-19 Prevention and Control as well as lychee consumption promotion in Luc Ngan district.

By 4 pm on June 8, the district had 242 Covid-19 patients, 891 F1 cases under centralized quarantine, 2,491 F2 cases and 3,125 F3 cases under health self monitor at home. The district People’s Committee creates all possible conditions for workers to come back to work while strictly following disease preventive regulations.

As of June 8, the district had 238 big weighting points and hundreds of small trucks to buy lychees. Since early season, more than 25,800 tonnes of lychees have been sold, including 23,140 tonnes of early ripening fruit and over 2,670 tonnes of main season lychee.

The local authority also encouraged the farmers to register to build driers to use in case they can not sell all the fresh fruits. The estimated capacity of 2,829 lychee driers hits about 50,000 tonnes of fresh lychees.

Via actual inspection and discussion, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong noted that the district should have immediate solutions to recover some issues in lychee consumption such as lack of human resources, materials for packing lychee, trucks, traffic safety...

Representatives of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation and Luc Ngan district People’s Committee ink the agreement on lychee consumption.

The district must well control over the labourers, drivers and traders from other localities, especially from Huu Lung district (Lang Son province) because it is under isolation condition; regularly remind locals to implement 5K measures; seriously punish any violation.

Local authority was ordered to build and firmly maintain disease safe area; successfully implement “duo target” of effective disease prevention and economic development with priority taken to lychee consumption.

At the same day, the provincial leader also attended the contract signing ceremony to depart and supply lychees between Luc Ngan district People’s Committee and Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (VCMIHC).

Representatives cut the ribbon to depart the fleet of truck carrying Luc Ngan lychee to Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation.

At the event, three Corporations under VCMIHC of Mining Chemical Industry Corporation, Electronic Corporation and Viet Bac Mining Industry Corporation passed the memorandum of cooperative agreement to consume lychee in 2021 with 3 businesses selected by Luc Ngan district People’s Committee, including Toan Cau Food Import Export Joint Stock Company, An Nhu Import Export Trade Investment Company Limited and Hung Thao Import Export and Trade Company Limited.

3 above mentioned Corporations committed to consuming at least 180 tonnes of Luc Ngan lychees from June 1 to July 30, 2021 which meet VietGAP and Global GAP standards with the market price depending on each type of fruit.

Three selected enterprises in Luc Ngan district ensured to supply the products as the committed quantity and quality.

Bac Giang lychee safe from Covid-19
As the latest outbreak of Covid-19 continues to make its presence felt in Bac Giang province, local lychee growers are focusing on protecting their crop. A host of measures have been adopted to ensure their lychees are safe from the disease.
Bac Giang early ripening lychee exported to 8 countries and region
(BGO) – According to the Department of Industry and Trade, as of June 7, the province consumed more than 53,000 tonnes of lychees, 35 percent of which were exported to 8 countries and region. 
Nearly 50,000 tonnes of Bac Giang lychees sold
(BGO) – As of June 6, Bac Giang province harvested and consumed nearly 50,000 tonnes of lychees, including more than 45,700 tonnes of early ripening lychees and 4,200 tonnes of main season fruits with the price of 12,000 – 32,000 VND per kg, reported the provincial Department of Industry and Trade. 
Luc Ngan daily exports about 150 tonnes of lychee to Cambodia
(BGO) – According to the Division of Economy and Infrastructure in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province), the district has recently set up 140 fixed weighting points which help sell more than 2,100 tonnes of lychee per day, mostly in the communes of Phuong Son, Hong Giang, Giap Son, Phi Dien, My An, Tan Moc, Tan Quang and Dong Coc.

(BGO) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam on June 4 had an online working session with Governor of Kagoshima prefecture Shiota Koichi to discuss ways to develop economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the Japanese locality.
