Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (born in 1998 in Ngoc Chau commune, Tan Yen district) started martial training when she was ten years old (in 2008). After 11 years, she has created her own name in Vietnam wushu sector via an admirable table of achievements.

Particularly, Thuy won gold medals in women’s combat event at all age groups from 2012 to 2016 consecutively while leaving a deep imprint at the national championship via the champion title at women’s combat event at 52 kg weight group in late 2016.

After three years, Thuy is professionally grown-up day by day to be a key athlete and a gold girl in wushu game in particular and high performance sports of Bac Giang province in general.

Thu Thuy has many factors of a talented athlete such as perfect technique, good physical strength, firm competition spirit and industrious practice. Thuy bagged gold medal at the weight group of 56 kg in the consecutive years of 2016, 2017 and 2018, including a gold at 2018 National Sports Festival to greatly contribute to the general success of provincial sports sector at the event.

With these factors, the young martial artist gained several impressions on the international arena, typically gold and bronze medals at Asia and World young wushu championship in 2015 – 2016.

However she failed at important event of the 18 Asian Games held in Indonesia in 2018 partly because Thuy did not have much experience on international competition and her manner was not at the peak to compete to strong rivals.

The failure helps Thuy set the target to conquer and increase more achievements in the international events, especially at the world championship and the 30 SEA Games to be scheduled this year end (in case the weight group of 56kg is included).

To realize this, Thuy has actively joined the domestic and foreign training courses with her team mates in the national wushu team at the beginning of this year.

Thuy shared: “At this stage, all members of the team participate in hard practice to accumulate the physical strength toward the World Wushu Championship to be held in Shanghai city (China) in October 2019 then return home to further train for the upcoming SEA Games in the Philippines”.

This time, Thuy also tries to recover some personal shortcomings, reinforce the professional strength, improve the forecasting skill and fighting speed. With the outstanding performance, manner and experience, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy is expected to confidently join the coming World Wushu Championship and win highest result.

Since nearly four months prior to the regional sports festival, the Bac Giang born athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh has spent utmost effort on  securing the gold medals that she gained two years ago.
