Bac Giang city focuses on developing spiritual, leisure tourism

(BGO) - Thanks to investment in creating landscape highlights and preserving historical and cultural relic sites, Bac Giang city (Bac Giang province) has attracted more and more visitors.

Sharp increase in the number of tourists

After completing the construction of items such as campus, display house and art performance area, the Xuong Giang Victory Historical Site has enough conditions to serve the organization of cultural and art activities to attract crowds of local people and tourists.

Nguyen Ngoc Hai, head of the Management Board of the Xuong Giang Victory Historical Site, said: In 2018, this place attracted more than 30,000 visitors, nearly double the figure of the previous year. Since the beginning of this year, the site has welcomed more than 22,000 visitors, including over 200 foreigners.

The renovation of the play area for children and the completion of the entertainment and area for the elderly with items such as community houses, walking areas, regulating lakes, fountains and sport equipment installation, the Hoang Hoa Tham Park has become an attractive destination for people of all ages to relax and improve health.

Besides, in the city, there are some private amusement places in the form of parks and studios such as Song Thuong Art Garden (Song Thuong Garden), Wedding Land Amusement Park, and Sunflower Ecological Area, attracting a large number of tourists to visit, take photos and relax on holidays, New Year festivals, and weekends.

Implementing Resolution No. 44-NQ/TU dated March 30, 2016 of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on tourism development in the period of 2016-2020, in recent years, the city has recorded continuous increases in the number of tourists and tourism revenue. In 2017, the city attracted more than 95,000 tourists, with revenue estimated at 96 billion VND (4.1 million USD).

Wedding Land Amusement Park attracts many visitors.

In 2018, the visitors numbered over 150,000, including more than 12,500 foreigners (from 46 countries), and revenue was estimated at more than 130 billion VND (5.57 million USD). Since the beginning of this year, the number of tourists has continued to increase strongly.

Enhancing tourism promotion, forming tours

Le Xuan Duong, head of the city’s Culture and Information Division, said as the city is not blessed with many beautiful landscapes, the municipal People's Committee plans to develop cultural-spiritual, shopping and leisure tourism, thus making the city a place for welcoming and connecting holidaymakers to tourist spots in the province and surrounding areas.

Competent agencies have organized programmes and booths to introduce and promote typical products of the city such as Ke noodles, Da Mai vermicelli, Bai Oi carpentry, Song Khe bamboo and rattan ... at Xuong Giang temple festival and trade promotion fairs and conferences.

The city has initially formed inner-city tours such as sightseeing and taking photos at Wedding Land studio, Song Thuong Garden, and Da Mai flower field; visiting the Xuong Giang Victory Historical Site - Hoang Hoa Tham Park or going to Thanh Pagoda, Ve Pagoda – Phu Temple; connecting tourist destinations from the city to districts in the province and neighbouring provinces, and vice versa.

Sunflower garden is a beautiful place for young people to relax and take photos.

To fulfil the goals of having 120 tourist accommodation facilities with about 1,600 rooms and luring over 200,000 tourists by 2020, the municipal People's Committee is stepping up popularisation, introduction and promotion of the land, people, traditions and cultural heritage and entertainment areas of the city to tourists in and outside the province.

The city has also made planning on the system of high-class hotels, cultural-sport works and entertainment services as well as coordinated with agencies in the province to speed up already-approved projects such as Xuong Giang stadium, logistic centre, trade centers and hotels; attract investment in building Nham Bien mountain entertainment and recreation area in Dong Son commune; and zone off land for developing tourism on both banks of Thuong River.

In particular, in order to develop spiritual tourism, the city has upgraded the Xuong Giang Victory Historical Site into a special national relic site; expanded and upgraded Phu Temple and Vinh Ninh Temple in Hoang Van Thu ward, and a temple dedicated to first doctoral candidate Giap Hai in Dinh Ke ward ... The city has also paid attention to supporting the promotion of trade village products to boost production and create experience tours of craft villages.

Bac Giang invests nearly 30 billion VND in tourism development
(BGO) – The Department of Planning and Investment in the northern province of Bac Giang has reported that nearly 30 billion VND (over 1.2 million USD) will be invested in the infrastructure and ecology for local tourism development in 2019. 
 
Community tourism piloted in Luc Ngan
(BGO) – To promote the advantage of the fruit cultivating area, Luc Ngan district in Bac Giang province has selected Hoa Quang hamlet in Tan Moc commune and Gianh Moi hamlet in Quy Son commune to invest and support in piloting the community tourism model in the key fruit region, including citrus and lychee trees. 
 
Tay Yen Tu tourism complex attracts nearly 40,000 arrivals in Culture-Tourism Week
(BGO) – According to the Management Board of Tay Yen Tu spiritual –ecological tourism complex, the destination welcomed 39,000 tourist arrivals in the Bac Giang provincial Culture-Tourism Week 2019 (taking place from February 14 - 20), 80 percent of which used the cable car to visit Thuong (Upper) pagoda or Linh Thong Thien Tu.

Tay Yen Tu - Prospects for regional tourism connectivity
(BGO) – The Culture-Tourism Week, themed "Exploring the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu", is taking place from February 14-20, 2019 to introduce and promote outstanding cultural values and tourism potential of Bac Giang province, especially the cultural space of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu (Western Yen Tu) region. From here, new prospects will be opened up for tourism connectivity in Yen Tu region (Quang Ninh - Hai Duong - Bac Giang).
