Bac Giang focuses on managing health condition of people returning from foreign countries

(BGO) – According to the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Bac Giang province, the province has had 11,500 local citizens returning from foreign countries since the Covid-19 hit Vietnam till April 25.

Nearly 10,700 cases returned from China (a small part via immigration way and most of them returned by small and free paths) while the remaining ones came back from other countries, leading to several difficulties for disease prevention and control. Besides, the province is the residing place for more than 4,700 foreigners.

Defining the task to control the pandemic to live safely, recently the province has highly focused on preventing the pandemic from domestic epicenter, reviewing, applying concentrated isolation and strict health monitor measures to the foreign laborers who get the Work Permit to come back Bac Giang; foreign traders, especially Chinese who come to buy the farm produce and lychee in the upcoming season; Bac Giang pepople who live in foreign countries to return homeland before Government “eases” the border partly.

As of 5pm on April 26, the number of cases under concentrated isolation sharply decreased in the province, down to 30 people. As expected, the case will go up again when several cases in foreign countries are welcomed to Vietnam.

As of April 26 afternoon, Bac Giang had 244 suspected cases, 221 of whom tested negative to virus SARS-CoV-2 and were expelled, 23 others tested negative and still put under concentrated isolation for further monitor.
