Bac Giang: Free entry for all badminton competitions at SEA Games 31

(BGO) - The northern province of Bac Giang, which will host badminton event during the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31), will offer free entry to spectators to enjoy all the competitions to be held at provincial Gymnasium in the South urban area of Bac Giang city.

According to Nguyen Trong Bac, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vice Head of local Organization Committee, the provincial Gymnasium can house nearly 4,500 seats.

The Bac Giang provincial Gymnasium is the competition venue for badminton event at SEA Games 31.

Apart from representatives, guests, all badminton lovers can enjoy all matches free of charge. All spectators are not required to test Covid-19 but wear facemasks.

Free entry helps attract more spectators to cheer up the athletes and widespread the sport spirit and passion. So far, the province has completed all preparations for the biggest regional sports event.

The badminton competition court in Bac Giang provincial Gymnasium meets international standard.

The badminton competition will take place at Bac Giang provincial Gymnasium from May 16 - 25, 2022 with 127 athletes from eight participating countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.

20 members of Vietnam national badminton team will compete at the event, four of whom are from Bac Giang, namely Pham Van Hai (born in 2001), Than Van Anh (born in 2003), Tran Thi Phuong Thuy (born in 2000) and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan (born in 2002). They are excellent players winning many medals at domestic tourneys.
