Over 500 tonnes of Bac Giang lychee exported via Lao Cai border gate every day
The information was released by the Customs Branch of Lao Cai International Border Gate on June 1.
Since May 8, over 7,300 tonnes of “thieu” lychee from both Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces, worth a total of over US$4.3 million, have underwent customs clearance for export to China.
Over 500 tonnes of “thieu” lychee from Bac Giang province have been exported via the Kim Thanh border gate in Lao Cai province daily. |
The price of Bac Giang fresh lychee exported through the Kim Thanh border gate was on average between VND13,000 – VND15,000 per kilogramme.
The volume of lychee exported through Lao Cai’s border gate is expected to increase sharply to around 1,000 tonnes per day.
The functional forces at the Kim Thanh border gate have coordinated smoothly to create the most favourable conditions for the export of the “thieu” lychee.
In order to effectively prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lao Cai provincial People’s Committee stipulated that all vehicles carrying fresh lychees from lowland provinces must pass through a single entrance located at checkpoint Km237 on the Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway to undergo screening test for antigens, together with SARS-CoV-2 tests on drivers and their companions, before entering the province.
All those on the trucks must present certificates showing negative SARS-CoV-2 test results from the previous 3-5 days.
