Over 500 tonnes of Bac Giang lychee exported via Lao Cai border gate every day

Over 500 tonnes of “thieu” lychee from Bac Giang province have been exported via the Kim Thanh border gate in Lao Cai province, with around 40-50 trucks daily over the past week.

The information was released by the Customs Branch of Lao Cai International Border Gate on June 1.

Since May 8, over 7,300 tonnes of “thieu” lychee from both Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces, worth a total of over US$4.3 million, have underwent customs clearance for export to China.

Over 500 tonnes of “thieu” lychee from Bac Giang province have been exported via the Kim Thanh border gate in Lao Cai province daily.

The price of Bac Giang fresh lychee exported through the Kim Thanh border gate was on average between VND13,000 – VND15,000 per kilogramme.

The volume of lychee exported through Lao Cai’s border gate is expected to increase sharply to around 1,000 tonnes per day.

The functional forces at the Kim Thanh border gate have coordinated smoothly to create the most favourable conditions for the export of the “thieu” lychee.

In order to effectively prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lao Cai provincial People’s Committee stipulated that all vehicles carrying fresh lychees from lowland provinces must pass through a single entrance located at checkpoint Km237 on the Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway to undergo screening test for antigens, together with SARS-CoV-2 tests on drivers and their companions, before entering the province.

All those on the trucks must present certificates showing negative SARS-CoV-2 test results from the previous 3-5 days.

(BGO) – The Vietnam Trade Office in Japan informed that 20 tonnes of Bac Giang's early-ripening lychees shipped to Japan on May 27 had been nearly sold out, at prices ranging from 350,000-500,000 VND (15.17-21.68 USD) per kg, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
Early ripening lychee in Bac Giang enjoys smooth consumption

So far, more than 5,000 tonnes of lychee have been sold with price of 15 – 35,000 VND (0.65 – 1.52 USD) per kg. Two lychee hubs of Tan Yen and Luc Ngan have strictly controlled over the source of Covid-19 infection toward the target of an effective and safe lychee production and consumption.
