State-level rehearsal for grand ceremony commemorating 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification
A state-level preliminary rehearsal for the grand ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025) was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 25.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications, Education and Mass Mobilisation Nguyen Trong Nghia chaired the rehearsal.

The event was also attended by Politburo members: Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang; and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
The preliminary rehearsal included: performances for the art programme; the official rituals of Party and State leaders; and the military parade and mass procession.
Despite the rain, a large number of citizens came to the city centre to watch and cheer on the units participating in the rehearsal in preparation for the grand ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Following the rehearsal, the Central Steering Committee held a feedback session at the Thong Nhat (Reunification) Hall. The final state-level dress rehearsal will take place on April 27.
