Bac Giang ensures safe and efficient electricity supply

Updated: 17:16, 09/04/2025

BAC GIANG - On the morning of April 8, Bac Giang Power Company (BGPC) held a customer conference for 2025. The event was attended by Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC); Do Van Nam, member of the Board of Members of the Northern Power Corporation (NPC) and other representatives and customers.

In 2024, BGPC overcame challenges and ensured safe and stable power supply to serve socio-economic development and people's lives in the province.

PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh voices at the event.

The commercial electricity output reached more than 6.56 billion kWh, an increase of 9.5% compared to 2023, making it the 5th largest commercial electricity output unit in the NPC.

Indicators on power loss, construction investment, business, customer service, digital transformation and others all met and exceeded the plan assigned by superiors. Electricity saving output reached more than 138.3 million kWh.

In 2025, the BGPC sets a target of commercial electricity output of more than 7.32 billion kWh, an increase of 11.6% compared to 2024...

At the conference, delegates listened to experts from Vietnam Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company (VETS) introducing programmes to support the implementation of energy-saving investment projects.

Business representatives also shared experiences in using energy economically; proposed solutions for the electricity industry and Bac Giang province to support and ensure safe and stable electricity supply for businesses to proactively and effectively produce.

Speaking at the conference, PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh acknowledged the positive contributions of the power sector to the overall development of the province.

He informed that Bac Giang has had a rapid economic growth rate in the recent period and the industrial sector has been identified as the main driving force for growth.

In 2025, the province was assigned by the Government an economic growth target of 13.6%, the highest in the country, so the demand for electricity for industry is very large.

The provincial leader suggested the NPC and power units to proactively source capital, actively coordinate with departments, branches and localities to speed up the construction progress of power projects, pay attention to building and renovating the 110 kV power grid.

Representatives of agencies and units are honored with Certificates of Merit from the Northern Power Corporation.

He urged the Department of Industry and Trade to survey the opinions of electricity customers on smartphone software to promptly synthesize customers' recommendations and proposals to advise the PPC and the power sector to propose solutions to improve service quality.

The power sector and the Department of Industry and Trade should strengthen supervision, inspection and assessment of service quality after the low-voltage grid, especially for non-state enterprises and cooperatives participating in electricity supply.

Thinh requested large electricity-using enterprises to invest in installing rooftop solar power to increase power sources and reduce supply pressure for the electricity sector.

At the conference, 16 typical agencies, units and enterprises were awarded by the NPC for their many contributions to the electricity industry and the economical and efficient use of energy.
